There is an article on BBC about it so check that out here Also, depending on the amount of news between now and Thursday this will probably be the last update until Saturday 10th April as I'm going on holiday for a week from Friday to Friday =) Oh yeah, one last thing, anyone who can't be bothered to read/Haven't got the time to read the article below with Mike Dirnt and fender, Mike says: We�ve been in the studio demoing up in the Bay area for over a year. Already, we�ve written 60-something songs. Now, we�re going down to Los Angeles to record our record in mid-February. We�ll be recording for three months or so. We�re hoping to have a record out around August and a tour shortly thereafter So yup, Green Days album is due out July/August time... Even though it was planned for a May 17th Release... And a tour will be following shortly after =D, I'll keep you all posted when I get more news. Several radio stations across the country have similar contests coinciding with the NCAA basketball tournament, but Y100's is the biggest of the bunch. Listeners call in all weekend to vote for each match up and decide who advances to the next round and is ultimately crowned "World Champion of Modern Rock." Green Day beat Puddle Of Mudd, Bush, R.E.M., Radiohead, Rancid, and finally defending champions Weezer to win back the title. New article from ananova on the new album... Green Day piling up material for new album Green Day say their recording about 35 songs for their new album. Rolling Stone reports the band are currently hard at work in Los Angeles with producer Rob Cavallo. Singer Billie Joe Armstrong said: "We've got about 35 songs we're going to record. It's a lot of material. "We're trying to get one theme throughout the album, because we're in the album business, not in the business of making singles. "We're really excited. And hopefully we can make some sense out of it." Armstrong adds the album - due out later this year - will have Green Day's trademark pop/punk style. Green Day drummer Tre Cool helped out Sorum on that performance. 24th Feb 04-Article/Happy Birthday Trant-Posted by SJ There is an article about summer camp with this said about Mr. Cool: Another happy camper who was an unpopular drummer was Tre Cool, of the punk group Green Day. He showed up at vintage comic/hippie Wavy Gravy's Camp Winnarainbow in California with a complete drum set.Fellow campers muffled his drums and forced him to keep civilized hours but Tre -- or Frank Wright III as he then was known -- still made an audible impression. Also I went to see Ryan Adams Live last night, Jesse Malin supported him. Jesse played for about 1/2 a hour which was cool, then Ryan played from 9:30 until midnight, the concert was amazing and I recommend you go see them both live (that is if you like their music =P) well ok thats it for now, updates again soon I expect, erm oh yea, theres a new poll up and it's now like 4 or 5 days to the re-release of 1039 SOSH now so yea order it! =P 19th Jan 2004~Rumours, Lies, Idiots...~posted by SJ hey y'all there is lots of emails like this one going around: Hey Green Day fan, You may or may not have heard the speculation of Green Day splitting up. Unfortunately, the reports are true. It is unclear to us the exact nature of the split, however, Billie Joe Armstrong has made clear his intentions to delay the press conference until the contract opt-out options are finalized. Greenday.net has been handed over to Warner Bros and Greenday.com is already owned by them so we are unsure of the future of the Idiot Club and the forum.
