Back around when "Kerplunk" came out, Mike and his ex-wife, Anastasia, were at a friend's house having a pillow fight. Mike ran around a corner and hit his sub on a low ceiling beam. He fell backwards, breaking both of his elbows. Metallica originally sang the song "Anesthesia Pulling Teeth," and because the song was about Mike's wife (Anesthesia sounds like Anastasia), Billie Joe called the song "Pulling Teeth."
