The Jo B Interview

We caught up this time with our newest teacher at Green Bay School (though it feels as though shes been with us forever but dont tell her that!).

Joanna Elisabeth Bertenshaw but we like to call her Jo B. Jos a fairly recent import from the UK. As recent as 1 year, 1 term, 5 weeks, 7 hours, 23 minutes and 52 seconds not that shes counting.

Armed with our list of questions to find out more
about the real Jo B we cornered her in the library.

Jo told us she has three pets. An elephant named
Lulu (who flicks peanut shells out of the window),
Alf the Alligator who has been known to bite the
odd postmans feet and Chester the chimp who is
always emptying the kitchen cupboards. Personally
Ill be staying well away from Jos house!!!

Jo is a very keen sportswoman and especially
enjoys swimming & snowboarding although not
at the same time

Her first job was babysitting although she gave it up after she squashed a few. A paper round came next, but Jo soon gave this up after a number of dogs took a liking to her ankles. Next she was a lifeguard for no less than the famous author Jacqueline Wilson. Doesnt she get around!!! After such an auspicious start she then moved upward and onward into teaching. We are soooo lucky to have her and her experiences here at our school.

So, why did she choose Green Bay School? Simple really, she loves children and exciting playgrounds! Clearly a child at heart.

But after all that, if she were not a teacher she would work in the field of Conservation (field, geddit????). Shes an outdoors kinda gal! So outdoors in fact that she once jumped out an aeroplane door. (Fortunately she was wearing a parachute at the time.)

When asked who was one of the people she most admired her eyes sparkled as she mentioned the British rower Steve Redgrave. But not for the reason you may think! It was actually because he had achieved gold in five consecutive Olympic Games and it inspired her to take up rowing.

In finishing we would like to say Thank You to Jo The Child at Heart for giving her time to be interviewed.
