Pastor Kathy's Corner "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus." Philipians 3:14 Paul penned these inspired words to encourage Christians to keep pressing on until the end of the race. Experienced runners know the beginning of the race is the easiest part because they're rested and excited to get going. As the race continues, fatigue sets in, obstacles threaten their pace, and the runner must challenge himself to keep going! As Christians, we start our walk of faith with great excitement and anticipation. I remember how bubbly I felt after my conversion. I wanted to shout from the mountain tops that I was saved by God's grace! My race has had its challenges. I have made some good decisions and there have been times I've lost my pace and stumbled. I am so thankful that God has been faithful. Currently my race is a very challenging one. Each day, I ask God for renewed strength and wisdom. Daily I face questions and wonder if I'm really doing what God wants me to be doing or if He has another path for me. The obstacles and hurdles seem quite large and high at this time and they have been for the last 2 months, but I know that my God will see me through. I covet the prayers of church family during this challenging time as I press on in the ministries I believe God has called me to. |
