History

Greenacres Women's Football Club would not be the club it is today, without the founding and pioneering strength of Hectorville and North Adelaide.  Tough times and adversity have not been without their absence in our league, and it's this fighting spirit that has been at the core of each of these clubs, and today carried onto the field every time a Greenacres guernsey is put on.

Originally...

In 1991 when the league was born, so too was Hectorville Football Club.  Hectorville went on to play in 8 Grand Finals from 1991 to 1999.

In 2000 Hectorville Football Club moved to Prospect Oval taking on the North Adelaide name, colours and uniform.  The Roosters claimed both the 2000 and 2001 Premierships, and contested a Grand Final in 2003.

In 2005, the Roosters became the Dragons, with
Greenacres FC adopting a newly recruited team.  3 years young and a new history is currently in the making.

Collectively, the 3 associated clubs have been in 11 Grand Finals, and has won 4 Premierships.

Greenacres Women's Football Club

-------------------------

We're a mighty mob of footballers
And each one is a star
And if you want to join us
You'll find us at the bar
And if you want to join us
You'll find that we're not slack,
And then you'll be a member of
The mighty green and black!

Should auld acquaintance be forgot

Keep your eye on the green and the black!!!
