Some history:

The first great success of the Greek army happened during Greek Revolution or Greek War of Indepedence(1821), as it is most widely known.The first battles took place in the year 1821 between Greek Revolutionary Amry and Turkish Army.Greeks won this war and destroyed the Othoman Empire.

Thats what historic evidense say:"...only in the first 6 months of the Greek War of Indepedence(1821), about 400.000 Turks were killed by Greek knifes and Greek bullets.In 1828 all the millions of Turks they used to live in South-Central Greece were all killed."

(Of course later at Balcan Wars more Turks died as the rest of North-Greece passed under Greek control.)

And the second great succes of the Greeks came, when Greek Army won Turkish Army during Balcan Wars(1900).

So Greece won Turkey in all the Great Wars since 1800(Greek Revolution and Balcan Wars).Greeks destroyed the Othoman Empire and gave freedom in Bulgaria,Romania,Serbia,Albania,Yougoslavia and a few more South-Eastern European countries....

Todays Greek Army(Army,Navy,Air-Force) is concidered as one of the most high-tech and powerfull accross Europe.
