                            THE PALKOI
THE NESOI were the goddesses of islands.  Each island was said to have its own personification.  They were numbered amongst the highest the ancient elemental gods called the PROTOGENOI.  The Nesoi (Islands) were said to have once been Mountains (Ourea) but Poseidon smot them and cast them into the sea with his trident.
                      Others
Anax - The land of Anactoria, later called Miletus in Asia Minor, was called after Anax.  He had a son Asterius, who became ruler of Anactoria.

Antaeus-  Antaeus, sometimes called the son of Poseidon, ruled in Libya and used to kill strangers by forcing them to wrestle.  He became stronger when he touched the earth, so Hercules killed him by holding him in the air.

Argus

Caerus-  One of the horses of Adrastus.  Was one of the horses of Amphiaraus in the chairiot-race at Opheltes's funeral games.

Cecrops-  Had a body compounded of a man and serpent, was the first king of Attica and under his kingdom the country was adjudged by Athena.  Some say that Cecrops was AUTOCHTHONOUS.

Offspring of Gaea and Pontus

Creusa-  Creusa was a Naiad.  She consorted with the river god Peneus, and had by him Hypseus, king of LAPITHS, and Stilbe, mother of Lapithus and Centaurus by Apollo.

Offspring of Gaea and Uranus- Three Cyclopes, Three Hecatoncheires, and Twelve Titans.

Dragon-  This is the dragon that guarded the Golden Fleece.  It was lulled to sleep by Medea and killed by Jason, Captin of the ARGONAUTS.

Hyllus

Leitus-  Leader of the Boeotians agianst Troy.  He was wounded by Hector, and was the only one of the Boeotian cheifs to return home from Troy.  He is also called son of Alector, or son of Lacritus and Cleobule, or son of Alectryon.

Offspring of Gaea and Zeus-  Manes- First king of Lybia in Asia Minor.  He married the Oceanid Callirrhoe and had by her sons Atys and Cotys.  Atys became king after his father(who some say was Cotys)  and is said to be the descendent of Hercules and Omphale.
