JOE BOUCHARD (born:9th of Nov. 1948)

Joe Bouchard (Albert’s brother) was the BOC bassist from 1971-1986.He came to the band in summer 1970 to replace Andrew Winters on bass, when the STALK FORREST GROUP had finished the recordings of “St.Cecilia”.

Until then he was the guitar player in a band called “The regal tones” (with Albert Bouchard and their cousin Ted Bouchard )& later the bass-player in his college-music-teacher’s latin/jazz band, called “QUE PASA”(’67-69).

Before that,he had also joined the band called “The Clansmen” (1966-67) with his brother Albert & Pete Havalind from “the Lost & Found”(E.Bloom’s ex-band) on guitar.

For the people who don’t know it:Joe & Albert had been living in Hellas(Greece) for 6 months back in the ‘50s as their father was working that period in the U.S. military base in the city called Thessaloniki/

Salonica (North Greece in the area called “Macedonia”).

He has written many BOC songs like:Nosferatu,Joan Crawford,Morning final,Screams,Light years of love,Hot rails to hell, and many more.He also is the singer in most of his songs. He left from BOC in February 1986 after the “Club Ninja” lp –release,as he didn’t agree with the new style of music the band had chosen to play & because he didn’t earn much money all these years with this band.So he,found “The Bouchard Brothers” with his brother Albert (but before they played the first concert Albert left the band and Joe changed the name to “The Cult Brothers” )and also  played for Spencer Davis Group and produced the lp for the band LIEGE LORD in 1987 (lp:”burn to my touch”), and then(1988-89) with Alice Cooper’s members Dennis Dunaway & Neal Smith made the band called “Deadringer” but they only released one cd(“Electrocution of the heart”).So,after that he returned to his personal band “Cult Brothers” (they were playin’ BOC tunes),but never released a cd,until 1998 when he changed their name to X-Brothers(cd “Solid citizens”).In the middle ‘90s he had stopped playin’ with any band as was studing to a music-college to became “Dr.music”(he took the University of Hartford master in music in 1994). {The CULT BROTHERS had a sister-band called CRYSTAL SHIP(DOORS-style) with Joe Tagg on lead vocals and the rest of the band were the Cult Bros. Members (Jim Cacala(drums) ,from KING FLUX band Billy & Andy Hilfiger) }.

And he also wrote/produced a method/book & cd  for guitarists, called  “Rock guitar for beginners”.

He has also been the producer for the bands: EMPYRE,Helen Wheels.

He only appeared on the Brain Surgeons’ cd “Trepanation” in 1995 and a couple of times live with the above band.Today, works in Ithaka college as a music-teacher(National Guitar Workshop) and plays with his band(X-brothers).In the year 2000 he met again with Buck Dharma and his brother Albert to record a tribute-cd for Helen Wheels and in 2001 he recorded a cd with his new band BDS (Bouchard/Dunnaway/Smith),which might be a remake of DEADRINGER.The initial name of the band was EYESCREAM.
