{Greek Translation Follows Below}

An Athenian was once asked where his altars of Zeus, Herkios and Agathos Daemon were located. His answer was to give the address of his home, adding that: ".... and I am worshiping there as my ancestors have before me".
The purpose of this webpage is to bring together UK residents who worship the ancient Gods of Greece, and for people who would like to find out more about this subject to be able to do so easily.
We have decided that the bureaucracy of an official group is unnecessary and perhaps unwanted. Others might choose to take a different route, which we respect. Some of us prefer to worship the Gods privately in our own special way, often in our own homes, and have a reluctance to "join a group" as such. Nevertheless, Hellene polytheists who belong to more formal groups are also very welcome to join this network of "friends" in the UK.
The emphasis of Greek Gods UK is simply to ensure that those people who wish to get in touch with other followers of the Greek (Hellenic) Religion in the UK can do so easily. We are not an organized "group" as such, but a loose collection of friends with similar interests. Our individual personal faith and practice may well differ in some ways.
Personal daily worship in our own households is seen by many of us as the most important part of worshipping the Gods. However, we also see common worship with others of the same faith as an enjoyable and worthwhile experience. We therefore try to organise occassional "get togethers", social dialogue, and communal rituals.
Some common views that all members of our network share:
While a diversity of thought and religious practice is seen a strength of our network, we feel there is a need to state some common views that all members share early on in the growth of our UK network.
People should not seek to express negative anti Christian, anti Jewish or other discriminatory opinions, or seek to encourage "any" personal or other political agendas. We simply seek to provide a "positive" sense of community for those who follow the Greek Gods. Respect is shown for all men and women regardless of ethnicity, race, colour, creed, social status, sexual orientation, or physical ability.

A chatlist also exists for people in the UK who want to keep in
touch or receive occasional information about our "get togethers"
(usually small events for social interaction, rituals or household
gatherings) at:
