Greatz 3-2 AIG
The team showed character to come from a goal behind to pick up all three points.
Greats turned up in fuLL force Less Patrick (injury) and CLement (commitment). There was aLso a pre-match entertainment of a mixture of different "baLLs" - footbaLL, offsides and ...... (pardon me but this is Greats Language)
WeLL, the "baLL" entertainment sure brought about a certain hype for most pLayers other than those who brought aLong their spouses Like Guizhong, Yansheng, and of course our Manager ; they have to stay "onside" and that is difficuLt given the kind of wonderfuL "baLL" entertainment. However cLose to kickoff the entertainment
was over. It was back to business. No. 5 have been keeping an eye cLoseLy on the match encounter between Andernese and Bakar which ended one-apiece, to our favour.
We hereby extend our gratitude to Andernese for Lending us a heLping hand in our quest for the Championship.
Enuff of the off-the-pitch stuff. This day wiLL onLy be good with nothing Less than three points. Greats and AIG fought evenLy for the first 20 untiL an open good shot outside the box from the AIG giant Left our goaLie heLpLess.
A doubLe substitution was pLanned before the goaL but it Looked Like a mountain to
cLimb to be a goaL down.
In came No. 7 and Eddy-bayor.
As the next few seconds went by, Greats repLied aLmost immediateLy. A hopefuL baLL was taken by pLayer-manager WiLLiam on the right fLank, and he sent a pin-point cross for No. 7 to finish with his 1st touch of the game. Minutes Later a quick 3-touch counter attack saw one pass from centreback to No. 7 and then No. 7 to pLayer-manager WiLLiam which he put to the back of the net for a Greats' comeback in the traiL for a win.
HaLftime 2-1.
Second haLf was very much more attacking from AIG as they seek for an equaLiser. With a fantastic fanaticatmosphere on the sideLines, the Greats overaLL defensive dispLay proved too hard to break. Another counter-attack saw No. 11 running and muscLing away from his marker and sLotting the baLL beyond the AIG's GK catch.
3-1 and seemingLy easing the pressure on Greats.
Taking nothing for granted though, Greats put in a discipLined dispLay of defending to protect their Lead but conceded a penaLty Late in the game, with GZ adjudged to have puLLed the AIG pLayer back.
GoaL and 3-2. It set up a nervous finaL few minutes but with AIG having a man sent off, Greats took aLL three points at finaL whistLe.
Thank you AIG for putting up a good fight over two Legs.
