Greatz 4-1 Airmark FC

A game that meant little to both sides turned out to be a "messy" affair.....For the first time in a Long time, the Greats pLayed not in the morning. But we cannot thank the organiser any more for giving us the opportunity to pLay in such a beautifuL pitch at First Toa Payoh. It was good to see much professionaLism instiLLed in this amatuer League, with the referee insisting on a handshake between the two teams before kickoff. However it wouLd have been the perfect scenario if the referee had handLed the game in the most professionaL way instead.

At 0-0, the game is going fine. Good in fact. Add sportsmanship. Greats took took the Lead through pLayer-manager on 14 minutes.StiLL aLright. The game is very much pLayed in the name of sportsmanship. We are pLaying footbaLL.Then, Greats extended the Lead when Number 11 pounced on a Lucky rebound from a fairLy weak shot from Eddy-bayor. Now we start to see more "physicaL activities" from our opponents. However, Airmark fought one goaL back from a penaLty, which was weLL saved by Greats goaLie but their pLayer managed to stroke the baLL into the net.

HaLftime and we take a breather.

Second haLf started Like the first, we aLL pLay footbaLL. Then, Greats scored a third when Captain FooL put Number 7 through on goaL and he Lobbed past the stranded goaLie to Land the
baLL at the back of the net. At that moment on, we can no Longer pLay footbaLL, as much as we want to. ObviousLy, the referee do not think that protecting pLayers is important. From then on, we are taLking evading crunching tackLes that comes in just for your pair of LoveLy feet. From then on, aLL we want is to save our dear innocent Legs for future games.

As for the Greats, the manager has shown no mercy to yeLLow card winners, taking off the pLayer every time one is booked. Yes, cards were shown. Yes, penaLties were given. Captain FooL scored the 4th to secure the win from the spot. But the maLice did not end right untiL the finaL whistLe. We heaved a sigh of reLief, no injuries sustained. No nothing, at Least. The Greats have aLL survived and grabbed a good win
over an aggressive opponent.

At the end of the day, Like the referee said, aLL we ever wanted was to pLay footbaLL.
