This call was memorable for a few reasons. Not only was it one of the very few times I wound up being nozzleman, but it was probably the most dangerous call I was on in my 5 years of service (although I didn't know it until afterwards). To set the scene in this picture, we made entry through that door on the left in the back (which leads from the kitchen into the garage) and took a step or two into the garage which was almost fully involved. Its also memorable because  my backup left me, which I didn't really appreciate (a nozzle team typically consisted of two people). Lastly, it was memorable because if you look at the picture near that door on the left, there are shelves of paint cans and other flammables that I didn't realize were there (due to the thick smoke) until after the fire was out. It was only then that I realized I had been squatting next to them as I was operating the nozzle. I'm very thankful that they did not explode in the fire.
