Coca-Cola Superslide
Coca-Cola Fan Lot features five key elements -- Coca-Cola Superslide, a Giant Baseball Glove, Little Giants Park, a Base Race and Giants at Their Best baseball-themed interactives to enhance fans visits to Pacific Bell Park.

Fans of all ages can visit Coca-Cola Fan Lot without missing a pitch on the field. A raised mezzanine will wrap around Coca-Cola Superslide and the Giant Glove to provide fans unique visual views of the game, San Francisco Bay, the Bay Bridge and downtown San Francisco.

Coca-Cola Superslide is one of the main attractions at Coca-Cola Fan Lot. The bottle itself, located 465 feet from home plate, contains viewing platforms and four slides, two 56-foot-long curving slides (the "Guzzler") and two 20-foot-long twisting slides (the "Twist-Off").

Coca-Cola Superslide is made up of lengths of dark green laminated wood, each 80 feet long, formed to shape the famous Coca-Cola contour bottle. The wood is held together by steel bands embedded within circular wooden collars.

The bottle weighs 130,000 pounds, rests at an angle of 25 degrees and is 47 feet tall at its highest point. A home run by the Giants and other celebratory occasions will activate a sophisticated sequence of lights that will congratulate the home team and its fans.

Coca-Cola and the Giants worked with local suppliers to bring the bottle on an open barge to Pacific Bell Park from its assembly site in Petaluma. The bottle was transported down the Petaluma River and through San Francisco Bay before being delivered and hoisted into the ballpark.

Giant 1927 Old-Time Four-Fingered Baseball Glove
The glove is a 26-foot-high, 32-foot-wide and 12-foot-deep replica of a vintage 1927 four-fingered baseball mitt. It is 36 times the size of the original model and weighs 20,000 pounds.

The glove, designed in Berkeley and built in Oakland, provides fans with a close-up view of a timeless baseball icon.

The glove, instantly recognizable as a part of the game, will be a fun target for big league hitters. Although, if hitters reach this glove, they will have hit a ball approximately 501 feet and it won't be an out.

The mitt was constructed by scanning the original model to create a 3-D file showing every stitch and wrinkle. A computer router, using the 3-D model as a guide, carved the outline of the glove from high-density foam. The foam was cut into blocks to make them easier to handle and covered with fiberglass before being assembled, attached to a steel infrastructure, and hand sculpted by artists.

The artists who crafted the glove took great measures to maintain the authentic look and feel of the original mitt. The surface is a flexible epoxy compound that was molded and treated to look like worn leather. The grommets are real brass and the stitching, done by hand, uses marine grade rope.

Local artisans put in hundreds of hours on this sculpture to make sure the right materials were selected for the glove's display.

Coca-Cola and the Giants agreed to model the glove after a four-fingered mitt owned by Giants Senior Vice President and General Counsel Jack Bair's father.

Little Giants Park
Little Giants Park is a 50-by-50-foot replica of Pacific Bell Park designed for children ages 3-7. It includes an infield, bases, outfield and ballpark iconography that gives tomorrow's Giants the feeling that they are Big Leaguers playing in a real Major League ballpark.

Kids can hit softballs or whiffle balls thrown by a pitching machine or a pitcher or sitting atop a batting tee.

Parents will be able to see their kids play on the mini-diamond by looking on over the park's walls.

The scenery depicted on the walls of Little Giants Park reflects the entertaining aspects of the baseball experience. Open arches have been carved into some of the walls so that kids can watch their friends playing in the park, just like the grown ups in right field at Pacific Bell Park.

Baseball clinics, pick-up games, player appearances and other special events will all take place at Little Giants Park.

Speed Pitch
Fans can experience what it's like to pitch in the Major Leagues by testing their arms at the Speed Pitch, now free for all courtesy of Pacific Bell DSL.

Fan Lot Photo Booth
Fans can take home a souvenir by having their photo taken at Fan Lot with beautiful Pacific Bell Park as the backdrop, on the cover of Giants magazine wearing a Giants jersey or on two personalized baseball cards (available only during Giants games).

Base Race
Fans can experience what it's like to run the bases in a Major League ballpark by testing their speed at the Base Race.

Fans can challenge their friends and family members to the 45-foot race from home to first. Who knows, there might be a future big league stolen base leader in the crowd.

The outfield fence provides a perimeter for the base runners and depicts a view of the knothole gang -- fans watching their friends enjoy the fun of baseball through openings in the fence. Many years ago fans were able to watch their favorite teams free of charge through openings in the outfield fence at big league ballparks. The Giants have re-created that old-time tradition with the open arches in the right field fence.

Giants at Their Best

Interactive exhibits will provide fans with added fun while visiting Coca-Cola Fan Lot. Three Coca-Cola telescopes will help fans enjoy a refreshing, close-up view of the game from the outfield.

There will also be autographed plaques featuring etchings of the signatures of former Giants allowing fans to get a player's autograph almost any time they want. Fans can take home their rubbings and have a collection of autographs as a keepsake of their visit to Pacific Bell Park.
