Ranger Stock
A limited 4 wheeled vehicle which must be a 2wd Ford Ranger or BroncoII. All
vehicles must conform to printed rules. This vehicle is setup to have the
appearance of a “Stock Truck”. All parts of the vehicle must remain stock
except for stated modifications.
WEIGHT - MINIMUM 2500 LBS.

FRONT END SUSPENSION
ALLOWED:
1. All parts stock production unless modification is allowed.
2. Sway bars may be removed.
3. Weight Jacks
4. Any tie rod or tie rod ends.
5. Shock towers may be strengthened, extended or replaced.
6. Spring buckets may be reinforced by attachment to the stock frame and/or
roll cage.
7. Springs of any manufacturer.
8. Spindles may be reinforced.
9. Suspension limiters.
10. Bushings and bearings any manufacturer.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Secondary suspensions. See ACR 45.
2. More than 12” of wheel travel
REAR SUSPENSION
ALLOWED:
1. Components stock only. Rear suspension track width must not exceed 59”.
2. Axle housing may be reinforced.
3. May utilize additional retaining straps.
4. Shackle mounts may be reversed.
5. Shackles may be lengthened to 6” eye to eye max.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Secondary suspension. See ACR 45.
2. More than 14” total rear wheel travel. Bottom to top stop.
SHOCK ABSORBERS
ALLOWED:
1. Any size.
2. Cooling fins.
3. Reservoirs.
4. Front - two shocks per wheel.
5. Rear - two shocks per wheel any location.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Air or coil over shocks. See ACR 45.
2. By-pass or position sensitive
STEERING
ALLOWED:
1. Steering box of any manufacturer.
2. Any steering wheel and adapter in stock location.
3. Any dampener.
4. Any steering shaft.
5. Power steering.
6. Heim joints
7. Quickener
WHEELS AND TIRES
ALLOWED:
1. Any wheel that will mount directly w/out an adapter.
2. 15x8 max.
3. Only D.O.T. approved tires allowed. See ACR 5, 235/75R15 max.

1. Any manufactured full flow system.

VEHICLE INTERIOR
MANDATORY:
1. Removal of stock seat, upholstered panels, headliners and carpets.
ALLOWED:
1. Roller pedal or stock pedal cluster. Fore and aft location must remain
stock.
2. Dash sheet metal for instrument installation.
3. Air cleaner hose may come through the firewall.
4. Any manufacturer throttle cable.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Removal of firewall.
2. Oil lines/coolers in cab
3. Glass windshield.
DOORS
REQUIRED:
1. Stock with original hinges and latches in working order and secondary
latches.
2. Nets fastened to doors with a latching device. See ACR 29.
3. Glass must be removed
FLOORBOARDS
ALLOWED:
1. Metal of equal thickness can be added to repair rust damaged parts.
HAZARDOUS PROTRUSIONS - BUMPERS
Adequately safe for front and rear. See ACR 35.
ALLOWED:
1. Nerf bars to sides in front of rear wheels.
CHASSIS
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Fiberglass body or doors.
2. Lift kits.
3. Windshield frame may not be removed.
4. Other body modifications.
FENDERS
REQUIRED:
Stock Metal Fenders.
ALLOWED:
Fenders and box sides may be flared.
BODY
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Protrusions through the hood- (example. - Shocks air cleaner.)

ENGINE
The engine must be Ford Type as delivered from the factory. Maximum engine
displacement is 2.3L
In stock location +/- 1”.
BLOCK
ALLOWED:
1. Iron I4 Ford block
2. Align bored.
3 Drilled and tapped for oil pressure and/or temperature sending units.
4. Windage trays.
5. Internal deburring.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Any other modifications.
BEARINGS
Any manufacturer as long as stock dimensions are maintained.
PISTON ASSEMBLIES AND CYLINDERS
ALLOWED:
1. Any manufactured flat top pistons but stock dimensions have to be
maintained.
3. Three ring pistons only.
4. Stock Dimension Rods.
5. Balancing piston assemblies. One assembly must be left untouched. The rest
can be balanced to the weight of the one untouched.
6. Compression distance open (pin height).
7. Piston skirts may be drilled. 3 holes 1/8” diameter (.125) each side. Total
of 6 holes.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Slipper skirts.
2. Polishing or profiling.
3. Dished or domed pistons.
4. Top of piston cut at any angle other than 90 degrees to the side of the
piston.
OIL PUMP
Any manufacturer.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Deep or dry sumps.
2. Sump alterations.
CRANKSHAFT
REQUIRED:
Stock OEM Iron.

1. Stock dimension.
2. Any gear.

VALVES AND SPRINGS

1. One piece valve of any manufacturer with stock profile only.

5. Valve guide seal.
6. Any manufacturer of valve springs, spring retainers and lifters.
7. Stock valve spring seat diameter in the heads must be maintained.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Grinding, polished or porting in any area including valves, port area and
guides.
2. Titanium valves or other exotic materials.
3. Swirl polish.

CARBURETOR
ALLOWED:
1. Stock or Holly 2bbl model 2300 350cfm.

4. Stock float bowl vent may be moved or plugged. External float bowl vent
allowed.
5. Any air and main jet.
6. Any fuel pump stock or electric or combination.
7. Air cleaner any manufacturer or location.
8. Velocity stacks.
9. Fuel pressure regulator.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Welding or bonding of velocity stacks to carburetor.
2. Internal modifications.
3. Removal of parts.
4. Polishing or filing.
5. Chemical milling.
6. Any other carburetor
INTAKE MANIFOLD
ALLOWED:
1. Stock only.

1. Any method to enlarge I.D. of manifold.
2. Chemical milling.
FAN SHROUDS
Any Manufacturer.
WATER PUMP
REQUIRED:
OEM Type, must be belt driven off the crankshaft.

IGNITION
See ACR 9.
The use of a distributor in the stock location is mandatory. Distributor and
coils of any origin and/or manufacturer are allowed. Capacitive ignition or
pointless systems are allowed, but ignition (spark) must be activated off the
distributor shaft through the rotor and cap to the spark plugs.
ALLOWED:
1. Battery 12 volts.
2. Any manufacturer distributor.
3. Any Ford type alternator or generator in stock location. See ACR 23.
4. Stock crank fire ignition.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Magnetos, aftermarket direct fire and multiple coil ignition systems.
