ALL CLASS REGULATIONS

These regulations apply to all classes unless otherwise noted in supplementary regulations.  Unless the class requirement or safety regulations specifically state that a modification or optional equipment is permitted, it will not be allowed.  GPORRA�s intent when prescribing specifications for safety equipment for vehicles that will compete under GPORRA rules is to provide adequate protection to all entrants and spectators, GPORRA does not intend to restrict the general or specific design of any vehicle or the development of competitive vehicles, but does wish to encourage all entrants to give full attention to safety requirements and specific class rules as to legality.  Any deviation from the ACR�s and/or Class rules at any sanctioned race will be subject to approval of the technical inspectors in writing in advance of the event.

All entrants, when operating vehicle on the racing course at all times, including warm-ups, must wear an approved helmet, protective clothing, safety belts, and shoulder harness, and all doors if any, must be properly secured.  In addition, all occupants competing in vehicles without full windshields must wear eye protection and those occupants competing in closed cars must have eye protection available in the event the windshield is broken or knocked out.


ACR 1 - DRIVER�S ATTIRE

REQUIRED:
1. A manufactured ONE  PIECE SUIT of fire resistant material that covers the entire body (excluding the head, hands and feet).
2.  A ONE PIECE SUIT ONLY.  Separate pants and jacket no longer allowed.

RECOMMENDED:
1. Two (2) layer.
2. Nomex undergarment.
3. Single layer suit wear Nomex undergarment.
4. Leather or fire resistant boots and driving gloves.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Suits with holes, tears and rips.
2. Oily and greasy suits.

HELMET
REQUIRED:
1. A Snell Memorial Foundation 1990 or 1995 approved helmet is required. Other color stickers may be approved in the future, if you have questions check with the technical committee.  (Legal stickers are found inside the helmet only).
2. �D� rings or metal push and lock on straps.
3. Protect Snell label.
4. Snell 1990 or 1995 approved helmets, the Snell 85�s is no longer legal.  Beginning with the 1995 Snell rating, the inside sticker must read SA-90 (Special Applications) or M-90 (Motorcycle), or better.






RECOMMENDED:
1. Painted on helmet: name, blood type, allergies and pertinent medical history.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. D.O.T. rated only
2. Snaps or Velcro strap connections.
3. 1985 and older.



EYE PROTECTION
REQUIRED:
1. Drivers and co-driver in open vehicles must have eye protection (goggles or shields)
2. Drivers and co-drivers of closed vehicles (Full windshield) need to have protection available in the event of windshield failure.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Vehicular movement without eye protection during race conditions.

ACR 2  - HORN Optional
RECOMMENDED:
1. Device that emits a loud sound.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Sirens.

ACR 3 - FIRE EXTINGUISHER
REQUIRED:
1. UL Approved portable dial type 2.5 pound ABC rated dry chemical or Halon extinguisher or larger in each race vehicle.
2. Must be fully charged and secured (quick release type) within reach of the driver and co-driver during all racing.
3. One UL approved portable dial type (minimum 5 pounds) ABC rated dry chemical or Halon extinguisher in each pit area ( any area for vehicle repair) within easy reach of anyone working on a vehicle.  The extinguisher must be marked with either the vehicle number or the driver�s name.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Duct tape or other temporary means of securing.
RECOMMENDED:
1. Approved on board fire extinguishing equipment using dry foam or halon.  Nozzles should be in each of these areas: occupants, fuel, and engine.

ACR 4 - SHOCK ABSORBERS
REQUIRED:
1. All vehicles must start racing with at least one working shock absorber on each wheel.  Other systems are subject to prior approval.

ACR 5 - WHEELS AND TIRES
REQUIRED:
1. Tight lug nuts secured with at least one full thread through the nut.
2. D.O.T. approved tires all classes.
3. Studs required with at least one thread outside of nut.
RECOMMENDED:
1. Remove paint from the mounting side of the wheel and drum as this is a cause of lug nuts to loosen.


NOT ALLOWED:
1. Wheels with cracks.
2. Worn or damaged lug holes.
3. Hubcaps or any type of snap-in center covers (i.e. bead lock centers)
4. Closed end lug nuts.
5. Multiple tires.
6. Tires larger than 40� OD at 18 PSI.





ACR 6 - SUSPENSION SYSTEMS, CHASSIS AND RUNNING GEAR

REQUIRED:
1. All systems must be secured with lock washers, lock nuts, safety wired or cotter keys.
2. All bolts secured with a nut must have at least one full thread through the nut.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Worn or loose parts such as spindles, axle nuts, pivot points, ball joints, etc.
2. Active suspension in any class.

DEFINITION:
Active suspension is defined as any device that electronically adjusts or changes the suspension while the vehicle is in motion.  Mechanical devices that are controlled by the driver and through no other means are allowed.

ACR 7 - STEERING
REQUIRED:
1. Safe steering systems with end play at a minimum.
2. All parts wired, keyed or with lock washers.
3. Reinforcement is necessary for all welded parts. 
4. The wheel mounting flange must be welded to the shaft if it is not a stock production shaft.
5. Steering shaft must be a least 7/8� O.D. x .060� wall thickness if it is not stock production shaft.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Any steering system not considered safe by the Technical Committee.
2. Steering wheels with detachable hubs containing plastic parts.

ACR 8 - BRAKES
REQUIRED:
1. Functional brakes on all four wheels.
2. Brakes must be able to lock up all four wheels.
ALLOWED:
1. Turning or steering brakes. See class rules.

ACR 9 - IGNITION SWITCH
REQUIRED:
1. A switch enabling the system to be turned on or off within the reach of the driver and plainly marked IGNITION ON or OFF.





ACR 10 - BATTERY
REQUIRED:
1. One capable of turning the starter and starting the engine.
2. Securely mounted with metal tie downs.
3. Wet cell batteries mounted in the drivers compartment (no fire wall between the driver and the battery.) must be covered with a case sufficient to hold the entire acid content of the battery in a rollover.
4. Any uncased batteries must have posts covered.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Aircraft batteries in the driver�s compartment without a case.

ACR 11 - LIGHTS

REQUIRED:
1. All production classes must retain the headlight openings but they can be closed with any flat material.

TAIL LIGHTS
REQUIRED:
1. One 3� amber light mounted as high as possible.
2. Must be in working condition and on during race.
3. Must be fully visible from rear of vehicle.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Disconnect switch

BRAKE LIGHTS
REQUIRED:
1. Two at least three inches in diameter in stock position or at least 36� minimum height from the ground.
2. Must be fully visible from rear of vehicle.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Disconnect switch.

ACR 12 - STARTER
REQUIRED:
1. Capable of turning or starting the engine.

ACR 13 - FUEL
ALLOWED
1. Any of the following commercially available gasoline�s or LPG or diesel may be used:
Service station pump fuel.
Racing gasoline as manufactured.
Commercial aviation gasoline as manufactured.

Commercially produced, nationally advertised fuel additives may be used only in the quantities specified by the manufacturer and only if a sample of the gasoline with the additive is supplied for technical inspection prior to the event.  Fuel samples may be taken at random before and after the race at the discretion of the technical inspector.

NOT ALLOWED:
1. No oxygen bearing fuel, including alcohol or nitromethane is allowed.
Note - See Technical Director regarding natural gas.






ACR 14 - FUEL CELL MANDATORY

REQUIRED:
1. Secure mountings to the frame or floor with bolts and/or steel straps.
2. Rear mounted cells must have a chassis or body cross member or substance between it and the driver and be protected from ground obstacles.
3. Fuel cells accepted by the GPORRA Off-Road Rules Committee as safe for its type of racing:
    a. Bladders composed of nylon or Dacron fabric coated and impregnated with fuel resistant Elastomers.
    b. All areas of the bladder including joints and fittings must meet the minimum standards: *Puncture
        test - 175 lbs. Spec. Mil-T-6396, Article 4.5.17.
        * Tear strength - 50 lbs. CC-T-1916, Method 5134.
        * Tensile strength - 450 lbs. Spec. CCC-T-1916, Method 5102.
Specifications other than those above may be approved by GPORRA if it is demonstrated to the satisfaction of the association.  Independent tests and analysis of fabrics and material may be necessary to satisfy the GPORRA Off-Road Rules Committee.
4. Bladder must be encased in a smooth casing consisting of aluminum .060�, 20 gauge steel or .125� Marlex. (Magnesium not allowed).
5. If the fittings are not built into or bonded to the skin of the cell they must be mechanically bound accomplished by an �O� ring or a flat joint.
6. All cells must have internal baffling with foam.
7. Acceptance of any fuel cell may be withdrawn.

ACR 15 - FUEL FILLING SYSTEM
REQUIRED:
1. Positive locking cap.
2. Design of system to be such as to insure there is no loss of fuel if the vehicle is on it�s side or totally inverted.
3. A check valve to prevent fuel from leaking if the cap and filler neck are pulled from the cell.  The check valve is not required if the filler is located on or within two (2) inches of the cell membrane.
4. Fuel filler must be in a location so as not to be disturbed in forward position of the vehicle or in adverse motion such as an endo or rollover.
5. When filling with fuel it must be directed away from the engine exhaust system and driver of the vehicle by a splash system of any design that accomplishes the purpose.  If the fuel filler penetration is sealed a body panel would be sufficient.
6. A flexible coupling to the cell must be provided for all fillers attached to the body or frame.
RECOMMENDED:
1. All lines, fillers and vents be made at one opening at the top of the bladder.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Monza or flip type caps.
2. Vented filling caps.
3. Vents in the drivers compartment.
4. Glass or plastic fuel filters.

ACR 16 - ENGINE DISPLACEMENT
ALLOWED:
1. No more than specified for the limited classes.
2. Engines are subject to a check by technical people at any time before or after the race.
  

ACR 17 - THROTTLES
1. Each vehicle must have a foot throttle incorporating positive action return springs two (2), attached directly to the carburetor throttle arm and must register a minimum pull of two (2) pounds.  A positive stop of over-ride prevention system must be used to keep linkage from passing over center and sticking in an open position.

ACR 18 - TRANSMISSIONS
Every vehicle in competition must have a functional reverse gear.  Four-wheel drive vehicles must be capable of being driven through the front wheels.
REQUIRED:
1. Dip stick must be secured into tube on automatics.
2. A shield covering the transmission of adequate material and thickness on front engine vehicles to protect driver and co-driver.



ACR 19- EXHAUST
REQUIRED:
1. Exhaust pipes at least to the rear of the driver�s compartment.
2. Installation to minimize dust and direct exhaust fumes down and away from tires and fuel cells.
3. Exhaust systems going through driver or passenger area must be insulated so that heat or fire is improbable.
MAY BE REQUIRED - DNR/LOCAL ORDINANCE:
1. Mufflers or forestry approved spark arrestor.

ACR 20 - DRIVE SHAFTS
REQUIRED:
1. On open drive shafts in front engined vehicles a retainer hoop 6� back from the front universal joint sufficiently mounted to secure the drive shaft in the event of joint failure.  This hoop must be constructed of 1/4�x 2� steel strap.
ALLOWED:
1. Retaining hoop is not necessary on the front drive shaft of 4 wheel drive vehicles.

ACR 21 - FLYWHEEL SHIELDS
REQUIRED:
1. A Sema or SFI approved bellhousing or �� metal covering the top and sides of the flywheel to protect both driver/co-driver from exploding flywheel�s or flex plates on all front engined vehicles with standard transmissions and automatic transmissions.

ACR - 22 OIL COOLERS
REQUIRED:
1. Installation designed so as to prevent the oil from the cooler or its lines from blowing on the driver or co-driver in the event of a failure. See ACR 40. 
2. Shroud installation if necessary.
ALLOWED:
1. Cooling fans.

ACR 23 - ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS & COOLING SYSTEMS
REQUIRED:
1. Complete and functional generator or alternator, water pump (if applicable) and fan.
2. Belts tight enough to operate sufficiently.
ALLOWED:
1. Thermostatically controlled fans and accessories.

ACR 24 - TURBOS AND SUPERCHARGERS
1. Not allowed unless specified in class rules.




ACR 25 - ROLL CAGES
MUST MEET MINIMUM MATERIAL REQUIREMENTS

CAGE DESIGN
REQUIRED:
1. Front hoop - one.
2. Rear hoop - one.
3. Top connecting bars - two.
4. Down braces - two.
5. Diagonal braces - one.
6. Necessary gussets.
7. All bars must maintain a three inch clearance from all helmets of the driver and co-driver in their normal driving position.
8. Braces, down and diagonal must angle at least 30 degrees from vertical.
9. All intersections ( of required parts) must be gusseted.
10. Cages mounted to the body or cab must be bolted with plates of minimum thickness of 3/16�.  These plates must be doubled on either side of the body or cab.
11. Terminal ends of the roll cage must be attached to the frame or body structure so as to support a maximum impact and should allow more that 1 1/2� of movement without shearing.
12. Vehicles without a stock steel door between the exterior and the driver�s compartment must have at least Three (3) side bars on each side to protect the driver and co-driver from side impact.  This bars must be located as near to horizontal as possible so as to prove maximum protection and yet not cause problems with entrance and exit.  This bar must be treated as part of the cage and welded accordingly and must meet minimum material requirements.

CAGE AND FRAME MATERIAL
ALLOWED:
1. Mild carbon steel types: DOM, CRW, WCR and WHR.
2. 4130 Chromoly.
3. Bolt and nut minimum dimensions of 3/8� diameter and grade 8 (SAE) or aircraft construction quality.
4. Gussets may be constructed of:
a. Flat plate 1/8:x3� x 3�.
b. Corner tubing split, formed and welded.
c. Tubing gussets the same thickness as main tubing.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Material used as structural members - can not be aluminum, titanium, magnesium, carbon fiber or other composite material.

CAGE CONSTRUCTION

1. Minimum material and structural design as laid out in this document.  Items one through six under cage design.
2. All materials not listed must have previous approval.
3. Welding of high quality and good penetration.
4. All intersections gusseted and braced as well as areas where any single weld fracture could affect driver safety.
5. A 3/16� diameter inspection hole may be drilled into a roll cage bar ( in an area that is not critical) for thickness inspection.  Technical persons will drill hole or holes.
6. All cage bars that might contact a driver�s helmet must be padded.
ALLOWED:
1. Exception from the diagonal braces in single seat buggies.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Undercutting of original tubing or metal or poor quality welding.
2. Brazing in roll cage construction.
3. Welding of primary mount of cage to cab or body (must be bolted).  See number 10 under CAGE DESIGN.

ACR 26 - SEAT BELT & SAFETY HARNESS

BELTS
REQUIRED:
1. Heavy duty five point seat belt and shoulder harness for driver and co-driver/co-rider.
2. Metal to metal connections and fast release buckles.
3. Two 3� shoulder straps and a 3� lap belt plus a minimum of one 2� anti-submarine strap.
4. Manufactures name and date of manufacture on a label.
5. Harness material of nylon or Dacron.
6. Clean belts in like new condition and must be replaced after 3 years of the manufactured date. Or at the discretion of the tech director. Dating proof is the driver�s burden if the date is not legible.
7. Adjustment buckles must be at least 1 1/2� from the seat to prevent chafing or loosening.
RECOMMENDED:
1. Seat belt replacement every year.
2. Sternum straps on shoulder harness.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. �Y� TYPE BELTS.
2. Push button type releases.
3. Dirty, stained, frayed, or cut belts.
4. Outdated belts.
5. Surplus harnesses.

ATTACHMENTS

REQUIRED:
1. Crotch strap as close to the front of the seat as possible so upward movement of the belt is kept to a minimum.
2. Shoulder harness behind the driver approximately 4� below the top of the shoulders.
3. Lap belts 2 1/2� ahead of where the seat and back rest meet.
4. All mountings must be directly to a structural member (1 1/2� x .090� tubing with gussets).
5. Mounting material must be hardened steel bolts at least 5/16� in diameter, washers  1 1/2� diameter attached through the frame or body with a cotter key or lock nut.
6. Belt hardware must be safety tied or cotter pinned.
7. �D� rings if used must be doubled (two) per each attachment.

ACR 27 - SAFETY NETS

REQUIRED:
1. All open areas on vehicles must be covered with approved safety netting to keep body parts inside the vehicle during an endo or rollover.
2. The roof of the driver�s compartment must be covered by sheet metal or aluminum.  SEE ACR 30.
3. Borders of netting and ties must be of material at least as strong as the netting itself.
4. Upper corners of nets on open vehicles must be fastened with steel mounting methods; i.e. bolts and eyelet�s, steel hose clamps or riveted to inside.
5.  Ribbon type nets are recommended.  String nets allowed at tech director's discretion.
ATTACHMENT
REQUIRED:
1. Fasteners every 4� to 6� on the outside edge of the netting.
2. Methods accepted in the past (not limiting) are: electric ties (nylon), velcro, hose clamps, steel rods, Lift-A-Dot and metal hooks.  Velcro and steel rods work well on the bottom of the netting if the full distance is fastened.  Velcro must be watched as it tends to loosen in dirt.
3. The driver and co-driver/co-rider must be able to unfasten the netting unassisted in any vehicle position for an emergency escape.
4. The netting location should be inside of the roll cage so it will remain inside in the event of a rollover or side damage.
5. Roof must be fastened with steel pop rivets or Dzus fasteners. If Dzus fasteners are used they must be placed at least every 8� and safety wired.
ALLOWED:
1. Arm restraints but they do not replace nets.
2. Netting of entire door frame if secondary latching of the door is present and operable. SEE ACR 29.

ACR 28 - SEATS

REQUIRED:
1. All seats must be securely fastened to a structural member so as to allow no movement up and down, fore and aft or side to side.
2. Seat construction must be such as to take the intended abuse of this type of racing.
3. A minimum of four (4) points are to be used in fastening any seat.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Stock type seats, folding seats, or racing seats with separate backs. 
2. Seats mounted to cab floor.
3. Mounting of seat cradle to any part of cab.

HEAD  AND NECK RESTRAINTS
REQUIRED:
1. The seat behind the head and neck area must be padded (at least 2� thick over an approximate 36 inch square area) with a material of sufficient quality to prevent whiplash.
ALLOWED:
1. Head and neck bracket subject to approval of the Technical Committee.

ACR 29 - DOORS AND LATCHES
REQUIRED:
1. Operating doors must have a positive locking mechanism.
2. This can be the stock handle and latch.
3. Secondary latching devices are necessary on all doors.
ALLOWED:
1. Quick release pins, pins and clips, etc.


ACR 30 - ROOFS
REQUIRED:
1. Roof escapes made of metal must be a minimum of .060� thickness.  Substantial hinges (piano type is ok) and 2 acceptable latching devices (such as rubber snubbers) must be used a maximum of 30� apart. .  2. A three inch clearance from the helmets of the driver and co-driver in their normal driving position must be maintained on all roofs.

NOT ALLOWED:
1. Velcro latching devices.
2. Netting or vinyl type material.
3. Multiple layers to attain .060�.

ACR 31 - FIRE WALL

REQUIRED:
1. An all metal fire wall must separate the driver�s compartment from the engine and any fuel sources.  The fire wall on the vehicle with a production body is that part of the body between the outside edges of the frame rails.
2. This wall must be fuel tight and extend from shoulder height to the floor and sides of the body.
3. The fire wall must extend at least 1� higher than any part of the fuel cell.
4. Fire wall modifications if approved require repairs with metal of like material and thickness.
5. The hood of front engine vehicles is considered part of the fire wall and necessary for operation unless other provisions are made in case of hood loss.

ACR 32 - BALLAST

REQUIRED:
1. Material used to make up weight requirements must be securely fastened to the structure of the vehicle.
2. Holes must be drilled in the material to allow wiring to the main structure so as to prevent removal.  Fuel may be used for ballast but must comply with ACR 33.

ACR 33 - WEIGHT

1. Wet weight is the weight used if minimums require a weight.
2. This is race body weight, less driver, but with 20 gallons of gas or a full tank whichever is less and the vehicle must weigh the minimum any time before, during or after the race.  The condition of the vehicle might require clean-up before weighing.  No fuel or oil may be added prior to weighing.  (This allows fuel to be used as ballast but requires it to be present at a post-race weigh - in.

ACR 34 - FLOORBOARDS

REQUIRED:
1. Belly pans or floorboards must cover the complete driver�s compartment.
2. If the floor is not a part of the body or chassis at least (5) 1/4� bolts or dzues fasteners per side must be used to fasten it to the structural parts of the vehicle.

ACR 35 - BUMPERS
REQUIRED:
1. Safe bumpers front and rear.
2. Flat or round surfaces on front bumpers.  Open ends must be capped.
3. Custom fabricated bumpers, front and rear, must be 2� within the body lines as viewed from above.  Ends must be looped.
4. Front bumpers must not exceed 12� forward of the end of frame.  Full bodied vehicles (Class 5-1600 & Sport Truck) may extend further.  Must be approved by tech director.
ALLOWED:
1. Nerf bars or frame head or other protrusions, but must be flat or round to the side or front.
2. Angle iron on rear bumper.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Channel iron or angle iron on side or front bumpers, nerf bars, etc.

ACR 36 - MIRRORS
REQUIRED AND MUST BE FUNCTIONAL

ACR 37 - SKID PLATES
Except for vehicles that have complete floorboards as part of the body.
REQUIRED:
1. Protection for front suspension, braking and steering.
2. Metal design unable to hold fluids.

ACR 38 - EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, PARTS, ETC.
REQUIRED:
1. Anything on or in a vehicle must be fastened securely enough so that they will remain attached during competition.

ACR 39 - BODY COMPONENTS - DOORS, HOOD AND FENDERS.
REQUIRED:
1. Hoods, doors and fenders must be fastened securely enough so that they will remain attached during competition.
ALLOWED:
1. Bolts and/or quick release or Dzus fasteners.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Racing without hoods, fenders, etc. Racing without these body components subjects the driver to disqualification.  Physical damage ( accidental impact) is only exception.

ACR 40 - HOSES

REQUIRED:
1. Acceptable condition of hoses.
2. Hoses securely clamped and/or safety wired.
3. Acceptable protection for any hose passing through the driver�s compartment to protect the driver in case of hose failure.  Hot fluids can cause severe burns.

ACR 41 - NUMBERS FOR IDENTIFICATION
REQUIRED: BLOCK NUMBERS ONLY.
1. Black numbers on white backround only.
2. Side numbers: one on each side of the body.
3. Top plate: number visible both sides.
4. These numbers must have a minimum height of eight (8) inches with a one (1) inch width.
5. Rear number: one (1) six (6) inches minimum height.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. Styled number or numbers made of tape, ink, markers, crayons, etc.

ACR 42- ADVERTISING
REQUIRED:
1. Good appearance and in good taste.
2. Not to interfere with identification numbers.


ACR 43 - ANTENNAS, RADIO EQUIPMENT
NOT ALLOWED:
1.  To transmit on frequencies in use by the official race or sanctioning bodies.

ACR 44 - WORKMANSHIP
REQUIRED:
1. Good professional appearance.
2. Approval of the Technical Committee.

ACR 45 - SECONDARY SUSPENSION

Allowed in unlimited classes and others only if specified: includes any item that changes the wheel travel rate other than the primary suspension in use on the vehicle.
INCLUDED ITEMS ARE:
1. Leaf springs, torsion bars, coil over shocks, Haga balls, air bags or anything other than shocks that change the wheel travel rate.
2. Air Shocks - All shocks with large diameter shafts; i.e. diameter greater than 1/3 the diameter of the shock body can be considered and air shock unless a working reservoir of 1/3 the capacity of the shock is attached.
3. BUMP STOPS.
ALLOWED:
1. Rubber, plastic, urethane, etc.
NOT ALLOWED:
1. The stop cannot contact the suspension unit with more than 4� of travel left.

ACR 46 - WHEEL BASE

Wheelbase is measured from the center of the wheel on the front axle to the center of the wheel on the rear axle at ride height.  If a difference is encountered from side to the other, an average will be used.

ACR 47 - TRACK

The track is measured from the center line on one tire to the center line of the opposite tire at ride height.  Measurements will be taken through the center line of spindle.  Measurements are to be taken at both front and rear of wheels and averaged to compensate for toe in/toe out.  The burden of proof of actual track width is that of the driver via the factory shop manual he must have in his possession for his vehicle.  See ACR 50.

ACR 48 - AIR CLEANERS
ALLOWED:
1. Hood scoops for air cleaners allowed, unless not allowed in Class rules, but must be done neatly and subject to the approval of the Technical Committee.  Any air cleaner hood opening must be covered with an approved scoop.

ACR 49 - METHOD OF MEASURING LEAF SPRING

Center of eye to center of eye (circumference).

ACR 50 - FACTORY SHOP MANUALS
REQUIRED:

All Class 7S drivers must carry Factory Shop Manual to match his vehicle.


ACR 51 - COMPUTERS

No on board computer data gathering devices allowed.

ACR 52 - DIP STICK

Where applicable, engine oil dipstick must be secured into tube by some means.



GENERAL REGULATIONS

OFFICIALS

GR 1 - The race director or his designated representative shall have the authority to penalize, disqualify and/or suspend any entrant for the violation of these rules, including but not limited to the rulings, and supplementary regulations described in GR 4.

GR 2 - Special rulings may be made by the race director to account for track conditions presented by the location of the race, the condition of the course, or any circumstances requiring such a ruling.

GR 3 - Special rulings  issued from GPORRA will be considered as official amendments to this list of rules, regulations and specifications.

GR 4 - Supplementary regulations may be issued for each race as necessary to amend, suspend or modify existing rules and regulations. Supplementary regulations for individual races will cover vehicle and driver changes for that race.

GR 5 - GPORRA assumes no responsibility whatsoever for delays, postponements and/or cancellations of all or part of an event because of inclement weather, unsafe course conditions and/or any other reason.

GR 6 - The race director will have overall responsibility for the conduct of any race conducted under these rules and regulations. All official race personnel will be directly responsible to the race director.

GR 7 - No one falling under the jurisdiction of any race official at any race and/or event shall subject said official(s) to improper language or other demeaning actions.

GR 8 - GPORRA reserves the right to refuse any entry application.

     ENTRANTS

GR 9 - Any person who drives a race vehicle, be it in competition or any other condition must be a current member of GPORRA.  Any entrant who fails to fully fill out and sign required registration forms and releases shall be subject to disqualification, and may forfeit any prize money, contingency moneys or points won in the race.

GR 10 - No entrant or crew member may enter racing areas until he/she has signed all releases, registrations and / or entry forms. No person shall sign the release sheet for anyone other than him/herself.

GR 11-Any entrant or pit crew member who permits a vehicle to be driven in a race by an unauthorized person , or who fails to notify race officials of any change of drivers during a race may forfeit all prize moneys, points and contingency moneys won in that particular race.

GR 12- Deliberate and/or abusive nerfing or bumping shall be reason for reprimand, penalty, disqualification and/or suspension at the discretion of the race director or GPORRA Competition Committee. Any findings or penalties assessed by this committee will be final.

GR 13- All entrants must  attend the drivers meeting. Failure to comply may result in disqualification .



GR 14- A driver shall not permit any person other than  a legally  registered co-driver/co-rider in the co-driver�s/co-rider�s normal riding position to ride on or in any part of his vehicle.


DISQUALIFICATION



GR 15 - Drinking of intoxicating beverages in the pits, impounds, the race course, or in the surrounded premises by anyone is strictly forbidden.  Also, the use of narcotics (amphetamines, barbiturates, or other depressants) or illegal drugs is forbidden. No drugs acting like, or containing ephedrine may be used, unless written authorization is obtained and presented to the race director or his designated representative prior to race day. Any entrant or crew member at an event who shows any evidence whatsoever of being under the influence of any of the aforementioned may be disqualified and subject to suspension from all future events and must leave those premises immediately at the direction of the race director, any of his authorized representatives or GPORRA officials.

GR 16 - Any person who makes a false statement on a contingency form shall forfeit all contingency.
              Procedures:

         3) Suspension

GR 17 - Any entrant disqualified from any race, forfeits all rights to any prize purse, points or contingency moneys and shall not be entitled to a refund of any portion of his entry and registration fee.

GR 18 - The maximum/minimum duration of a race will be set by GPORRA.

GR 19 - Passing is not permitted under yellow flag conditions. Any infraction of this safety rule will be subject to time or position penalty or disqualification at the discretion of the race director or GPORRA competition committee.

GR 20 - All starting procedures will be announced or covered at the driver�s meeting prior to each event and/or race.

GR 21 - No race vehicle shall be towed, pushed, pulled or transported by another race vehicle during green flag conditions.

GR 22 - Marked Course:  Marked course is that official route designated by and marked with proper markings.  The marked course must be followed by all vehicle entrants during the race.  No vehicle entry may deviated from the marked course.  If a vehicle leaves the track, re-entering onto race track, must occur where vehicle left the track.

GPORRA is not responsible for markings which are damaged or moved.  No persons other than the race officials are permitted to place, remove or relocate course markings.  All vehicles must drive only in the correct direction of the course.








DRIVER/CO-DRIVER

GR 24 - A person, or persons named to be the operator of a vehicle that is entered in a race.  The driver and one additional person may be named as a team prior to the vehicle racing in its first race of the season.  The team members cannot be a driver or team member of another car in the same class.  If you do not register as a team prior to racing the car you can no longer register as a team, anyone who drives the car would get the points, it would not go to the car. All driver/co-drivers must be at least 14 years of age. If a race starts with a co-driver, it must end with a co-driver.

PITS

GR 25 - No one will be allowed to enter the pit or race area without first presenting a valid GPORRA pass to the race official.

GR 26 - At all times the entrant assumes responsibility for the actions of his pit crew.

GR 27 - No persons under suspension by the competition board will be permitted to participate.

GR 28 - Any pit vehicle running on or near the race course that is endangering the entrants, race officials, or spectators, could call for the disqualification of the particular vehicle for which they are servicing.  Designated pit area must be used.

GR 29 - Any entrant, crew member or other pit pass holder who takes part in any demonstration in the pits, on the course or surrounding area before, during, or after an event shall be subject to expulsion from the premises; and in the case of entrant may result in suspensions, and/or disqualification, and loss of points and forfeiture of purses, awards and prizes.

GR 30 - Maximum speed in the pit area is 5 MPH.  Excessive speed in pits may result in loss of points, disqualification, or suspension.



TECH

GR 31 - It is the full responsibility of entrants, drivers, owners, and sponsors to meet all GPORRA rules and specifications issued by GPORRA.

GR 32 - Each vehicle, regardless of class must complete and satisfactorily pass the inspection of the technical inspector or his/her designated representatives before being allowed to participate in a race.

GR 33 - GPORRA reserves the right to subject any vehicle to a mechanical inspection at the discretion of race officials in charge.  It shall be the responsibility of the driver or entrant to tear down a vehicle for inspection when requested to do so by the official in charge.  Failure to comply will result in disqualification driver, entrant and vehicle, and may result in suspension in future races.

GR 34 - GPORRA reserves the right to limit admittance of personnel to any area or garage in which inspections are being made; and the technical director has the right to limit attendance to only those inspectors and two mechanics assigned to perform the work necessary in handling the vehicle for inspection.

GR 35 - GPORRA reserves the right to seal or impound vehicles.

GR 36 - GPORRA assumes no responsibility for impounded vehicles, although reasonable efforts will be made to insure their security.

GR 37 -  At any event which calls for a mandatory inspection of vehicles after a race, any vehicle removed from the area without permission of the race steward or his designated representative or GPORRA Official, or any vehicle not taken directly to an inspection area when requested by the race director or his designated representative in charge or GPORRA Official, may subject driver, entrant, and vehicle to disqualification from the race(s) and forfeiture of all money, points, awards, contingencies, and prizes, and may result in suspensions from future races.

GR 38 - GPORRA requires the owner of a vehicle damaged or rolled over in a race to submit to an inspection by GPORRA technical staff before the vehicle can race again.  If the owner refuses inspection, the vehicle may be restricted from all future sanctioned races. 

GR 39 - No entrant, pit crew member or sponsor shall have any claim for damages, expenses, lawsuits, or otherwise against promoter, track operator, GPORRA, its� officers, agents or employees arising from damage to any vehicle, personal injury to the driver or co-driver or monetary loss of any kind whatsoever.  Entrants, pit crew members and sponsors waive any claim they may have against promoter, track operator, or its� officials when they voluntarily participate in any racing activities conducted under these rules. 

GR 40 - The tech director may impound vehicle parts as he sees fit.

GR 41 - No smoking in tech area during the tech inspection of vehicles.
