| Lauren started fiddling when she was only 6 years old under the enthusiastic direction Phil Howes. Phil encouraged an appreciation for all things fiddle - especially the Celtic tunes! At fiddle camps, she has had the pleasure of learning from many excellent teachers, including Shane Cook, Chad Wolfe, Kyle Cook, Patti Curran, Phil Howes and Debbie Herriott Howes (Debbie influenced her love of piano). Lauren has become not only a great performing fiddler, she has also honed her talents step-dancing, strumming the mandolin and playing piano. She enjoys competing in many fiddle and step-dancing contests across Ontario. When "kicking back", she delights in composing original fiddle and piano tunes. |
