The World is not Enough (1999)

Some men want to rule the world... Some women ask for the world... Some believe the world is theirs for the taking... But for one man, The World Is Not Enough!!!

Pierce Brosnan Emerged as one of the most popular Bonds ever, and when TWINE came about, Fans got a great down-to-earth story that is expected for a Bond film.

One of the more emotional films in the series, there was one director that would be perfect: Michael Apted. Apted was known for his dramas and his direction made the film ever better. A plot twist in this film provides the drama, as Bond is set to make many difficult choices, but pulls through for England.

Also note that it is the only Pierce Brosnan Bond film not to feature satellites and Super-high tech computers. This time the plot is down-to-earth, The Villians plan to cause a nuclear meltdown in Istambul, this will damage the world's oil supply and leave only 1 source of oil into asia. This plot went well, althuogh the film was no smash hit, it was one of the better bond films in recent days.

A good bond film, we say goodbye to Desmond Llewlyn, who played Q (Major Boothroyd) in 17 of the first 19 Bond films, there is a little scene where Q slowly lowers into the floor by a gadget after give bond one last peice advice (Never let them see you bleed and always have an escape plan). The film was released November 19th, 1999, exactly 1 month later, December 19th, 1999, Desmond Llewlyn died in a car crash. The TWINE video and DVD were both dedicated to Him.

Q introduced a new Quartermaster, who bond jokenly calls "R" (which caused some confusion, as many fans beleived that this was the charactor's actual name), Played by John Cleese. John was the Ideal person to take over, and in the next film "Die Another Day" he is indeed called "Q".

Though not the greatest bond film, it is one of the better ones, and the younger generation of Fans seem to like it alot, so Spy fans should look into this one.

The World is not Enough's chances are slim, very slim. It's not a bad film, but stands little chance against Return of the Jedi in the first round.
