In 1986, Pierce Brosnan was the top choice to take over for the role of James Bond, But ran into problems. When it look sure that He would be bond, NBC stepped in and used Brosnan's Remmington Steele contract to deny him the Honor.
The film was the 17th bond film. Bond 17 was to be released in 1991, but legal matters and poor box-office sales from "Licence to Kill" pushed it back. The Script took alot of changes from the origonal Ideas, for example, Trevelyan was to be Bond's Boss or Mentor and Anthony Hopkins was asked for the role, but declined.
Although the films was a smash and drew many new fans, The score was disliked and in TND David Arnold became the conductor and has been ever since.

Goldeneye Opens with one of Bond missions from 1986, Bond and fellow agent 006 are to destroy a Soviet Chemical Plant. They succeed, But Bond looses his fellow agent and Best Friend to a Russia Colonel named Ourumov, who he will meet again. 9 year later, a Russian satellite, Goldeneye, is stolen, Ourumov is one of suspects. Goldeneye has the power to create Electro Magnetic Pulse, destroying anything with an electical circut.
