The 1983 study was the joint initiative of several students at Grande Rivière, near where the Colborne wrecked, the Corporation du Bourg de Pabos, Employment and Immiagration, Ottawa and several other organizations, to bring the story of that wreck to the fore. I got involved when a charming young artist, Mireille Depuis, who had created one of the best impressions in oil of a square-rigger under full canvas, asked if I knew anything of the incident. Between what I already had on file, what she sent me, and what I located via the numerous sources mentioned in the credits, I'm sharing with you that story.
