Steven Gardner Gray was born on January 31, 1962 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas. On June 3, 1989, Steven married Shawn Dianne Streib in the Leakey United Methodist Church in Leakey, Real County, Texas. A reception followed at The Group Shelter inside Garner State Park. Much of the land that is now Garner State Park, was sold to the State of Texas in the 1930s by Shawn's Grandfather, Fritz Streib. They have 2 children:
