Wooden Man
The wooden eyes they watch me from the wall,
The wooden eyes they watch me as I fall.
The splintered face it eats away my gain,
The needles in my mouth,
They pierce against the grain.
··············································
Oh wooden man, how I wish that you would die,
You take the child within me,
Under the cradle where I lie.
Your bony fingers grapple,
Around my tiny face,
Covering my muffled screams,
Without a single trace.
··············································
You live inside the shadows,
Of the closet in the room,
When night arrives your narrow eyes,
Red pinpoints through the gloom.
··············································
Oh wooden man you make me shiver,
With a twisted, ugly, shriek,
When you lurk beneath the floorboards,
I hear your dark wood creak.
··············································
Wooden man, Oh wooden man,
The time to leave is now,
You fed off my fright for all these years,
I'd leave but I don't know how.
··············································
Well I am older now and your still around,
But you can hurt me no more,
You've scared me to death with your hollow wooden sound,
But I know that you live in the floor.
··············································
So come out and play with the spirits of the night,
So I may see you one last time,
I will sit for you here by the sound of the clock,
And wait for midnight to chime.
··············································
But when you appear out of your shadowy home,
I'll be ready with revenge in my hand,
You cannot run now there's nowhere to hide,
It's now I who holds the hour of sand.
··············································
It is all that you've got so live it out well,
You've haunted me for much much too long,
The ring of the chime, the breaking of glass,
And the banshees begin whaling their song.
··············································
You are rid from my life and forever will be,
But the scars you have left me won't heal,
The only thing no one can convince me of now,
Is that you really never were r·e·a·l.
