| THE TALL MAN |
| One of the most mysterious, original and sinister characters ever the grace the screen. Known only as "The Tall Man"--a name coined by a precocious Teenage boy--The Tall Man is a being from another Dimension or Planet. He is not Human despite his appearance. He is a maleviolent Creature merely disguised as a Human. Outwardly, he appears to be an UnderTaker, the rather creepy and sinister proprietor of Morningside, a small town Mortuary and Cemetery. Morningside has been his base of operations for over a Century. But as the Phantasm series progresses, The Tall Man moves stealthily, then brazenly, across the northwestern U.S., pillaging Graveyeards and exhuming Caskets in a bizarre Otherworldly bodysnatching scheme. Loved ones are taken from their final places of slumber, returned to the Mortuary--then to life. They are transported via Dimensional Gateway to a place worse than Hell. With such a volume of "clients" to oversee, and considering the magnitude of his Campaign in acquiring terran slaves, The Tall Man doesn't manage it all alone. His Minions include Hooded Dwarves, the Undead Byproduct of his re-animation and shrinkage techniques. Humans spared an existance as Dwarves are no less vicious: Zombies, Caretakers, Gravers, Embalmers (skilled in the use of... alternate... Embalming fluids). Human Brains are the most lethal of all, encased in chrome Spheres, capable of flight, cleverly coined by the press as "computerized Vampires". None of these "helpers" are quite as lethal as The Tall Man himself. A giant, about twice the size of a normal Human being, is visually quite imposing. His strength is SuperHuman, Caskets and people mere kindling to him. He is quite likely immortal, and definitely invincible. No manner of Death seems to keep him down. Lynching, Feezing, Gunshots, Explosions, Fatale Plunges (down Mineshafts), Hydrocloric Acid, nothing seems to vanquish him. The Tall Man keeps returning, in pristine condition, through his Spacegates. Each new carnation is much deadlier and more menacing than the last. Where he comes from is mostly a mystery. But the answer seems to originate in the past, of a kindly 19th Century UnderTaker, Jebediah Morningside. Morningside, obsessed with conquering the mystery of Death, invents a Portal to another Dimension. He never returns. Instead, The Tall Man arrives, armed with Spheres, Otherworldly Embalming techniques, and much improved Spacegates. Pray that The Tall Man doesn't arrive in your Town anytime soon, because if he does, prepare to face unimaginable and unspeakable Horror... |

| MICHAEL PEARSON |
| The *Main* Phantasm Character, Michael Pearson is the most troubled person to face The Tall Man. Haunted by memory after memory of The Tall Man's rampage and destruction. Mike's life has been hard; losing his Parents at the tender age of 13, having to live with his older Brother and look up to him (as well as Reggie, the Town Ice Cream Vendor), but nothing could ever prepare him for what he would face when The Tall Man arrived. Mike was the first to see what The Tall Man does when no one is around him. He was the first to investigate, the first to defeat The Tall Man. The Tall Man came back however, and was even more powerful. Mike had been spending time in a Mental Institution until he was 19 years of age. He had convinced his Doctors that The Tall Man stuff was just his overactive imagination. He was free, but of course, he knew what he saw. He contacted Reggie and got him to help. Packing a MakeShift Flamethrower, Colt Army Issue Handgun, and other Weapons, Mike was ready to deal with The Tall Man, but he was completely unaware of what was awaiting him. Having been hunted by The Tall Man, learning the secrets behind some of the mysteries of him along the way, and undergoing some sort of frightening and evil Transformation, Mike's life has been Hell. Reggie is Mike's only hope in terms of staying alive and normal, and defeating The Tall Man once and for all. Will Mike ever defeat The Tall Man and return to his normal self again? |

| REGGIE BANNISTER |
| Reggie Bannister was an Ice Cream Vendor with his own Ice Cream Shop. He was the best Friend of Michael Pearson and Mike's older Brother Jody. Reggie also owned his own Ice Cream Shop. Reggie had no idea of what he would face when The Tall Man came into Town. However, Reggie would seriously kick some butt when he helped Mike after Mike was released from a Mental Institution. Armed with his now infamous Quadruple-Barreled Shotgun, as well as a ChainSaw and Power Drill (even a Grenade), Reggie was ready to fight to the death, but he'll need more than just powerful Weapons to survive. Reggie has had many dangerous and life-threatening encounters, having battled Gravers, Spheres, Zombies, Demon Troopers, and many more. Reggie is Mike's only hope of Survival and defeating The Tall Man for all eternity. He was an Ice Cream Vendor by trade, now, he's a Soldier, a Soldier in a War again The Tall Man's Army of the Living Dead... |
