| Charge: The Gratiot County Homeless and Housing Task Force seeks to promote awareness to Gratiot County residents of programs available to prevent homelessness and to improve the quality and availability of housing. I. Assimilation of information from: Gratiot County Community Mental Health Family Independence Agency Gratiot County Housing Commission Alma Housing Commissiont Women�s Aid Service Salvation Armyt American Red Crosst EightCAP, Inc. Gratiot Community Foundation Gratiot Collaborative Council U.S. Veteran�s Hospital Common Ground Inc. II. Select concerns for development are: Increase supportive services to homeless persons in Gratiot County including payment of eviction notices, rent, utilities, access to existing services, and identification of additional community members/agencies that can become stakeholders in the Continuum of Care process. Promote the development of transitional housing for homeless residents of Gratiot County. Advocate for an increased availability of affordable housing for all residents of Gratiot County. Membership: The committee shall consist of members from public or private agencies or organizations that either can or do provide for short or long-term needs, health needs, case management, education, other support services to limited resource households or a concerned community member having an interest in housing needs in Gratiot County. The term of office shall be for one year which may be extended. The committee shall appoint a chair for each one year term. The chair will report committee progress to the GCC. Staff: The Prevention Coordinator shall provide support to the GCHHTF: Providing information regarding State of Michigan initiatives regarding homelessness. Assisting in developing and maintaining an active membership. Provide assistance in the disbursement of monthly information to the membership via e-mail or USPS. |
