| DOUBLEBAR I have successfully bred the doublebar here in cylinder type nests that they use for roosting as well as breeding.I line the inside with swamp grass and thats about all i do,they finish off with bits of pampass grass heads or occasional feather and thats about it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| GUALDIAN i have successfully bred the gualdian finch in nests using small finch boxes and or budgie boxes.They dont use feathers and i have found that over time they have started to put grass in of there own accord,they did start off with just what i put in there but as time goes on ive seen more and more put in dont know if that means anything but i have noticed it. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||

| RED FACED PARROT FINCH well what to say about this ...not much as ive started just breeding them so dont have much to say at the moment except that i decided to try these as i was getting bored with what breeds i have ...not to say i dont like my other breeding stock!!!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| BLUE FACE PARROT FINCH well since writing this i have had them build a nest,lay eggs and lets hope theyare fertile..probaly the quickest birds that i have had breed never experienced this before !!!!!.Like i have read one of the easiest parrot finches to breed,and i have to agree at this point!! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| STAR FINCH(redface,yellow face,cinnamon,fawn),Started off with just the red face a few years ago and had reasonable success,had a lot of losses too,not sure but sometimes they just abandon young at weird times,like just before fledging and other times.Could be night frights or anything but dont poke around with them .Ive just started breeding these mutations which have separate from the reds and seperate from the yellows ,so i keep the original reds the way they are suppose to be,and the same with yellows. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I do have other birds such as ;fire finch,orange breast,emblema,which i keep more for color and to have something else in the aviary but my favourites are the double bar,and the others listed .Breeding has not been that difficult,had reasonable success with all my birds (apart from when rats wiped me out of two avairies),so apart from that which made me feel like giving it up!,ive had a lot of enjoyment and have met alot of nice people that breed birds .A lot of people my own age probaly doin other things than breeding birds but i have started doing it as something to keep me occupied . | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Well since first writing this i have had a lot of success young stars,fire finch,orange breast,parrot finches gone down,gualdians,double bars so all the finches i keep are going down and i do have to say that seeding grasses have to be the reason...probaly clean water and good seed but it seems as thou most of the birds have young and while they are looking after the fledging they are building -breeding anouther lot.I have also had alot of enquiries about grasses which has been great and anyone who has any questions about grasses please dont hesitate in emailing me as that is why i made this site.
