100 views at Mill Lake Park  Summer 2006
For our 2006 show at Kariton Gallery in Abbotsford, the Graphic Guild decided to hold a show titled "100 Views at Mill Lake Park".  This theme drew on the inspiration of the French plein aire painters and the Japanese series entitled "100 views of Mount Fuji".  Since Mill Lake is a central point in Abbotsford and is enjoyed for its beautiful natural environment, we thought that this would be a great way to include the entire community and invite artists who are not part of the Graphic Guild. To help promote this we held plein aire paintouts at Mill Lake Park during the summer, on June 24, July 22 and August 19.

Sponsors were contacted to help with costs of putting this event on and to be able to give out prizes and awards.  Some of the sponsors incuded
WebNet Converged Wireless Ltd, Rapid Copy and Print Co., Abbotsford Arts Council, House of Fine Art, Charisma Gallery, Restaurant 62, VanCity Credit Union, Tourism Abbotsford, MSA Museum, Abbotsford News and others including individuals that gave their time and help.

Special thanks to
Carrie Wachsmann who besides being a sponsor, freely gave of her time and effort to help to make this show a success by contacting sponsors and arranging many of the various details in making this happen.
