A Pro-style Trunks
These are the kind of trunks that you will often see professional wrestlers using. They come in various shapes, sizes and colours. Essentially they are high slung totally covering the abdomen or stomach even up to and above the navel, wide sided, full seated, and single coloured. Some wrestlers have their names or promotion on the seat. They can be obtained from pro-wrestling equipment suppliers. (see commercial adverts section)
B Briefs
As they sound these are opposite of pro-style trunks in that briefs are often low on the stomach or even abdomen, medium to thin sided, three quarter or a third seated so that they ride up into the buns while wrestling. Single colours are usual but you can often see various designs and variable colours. They can be obtained in sports shops and some specialist catalogues such as Kiniki. This heading can also cover all over types of underwear
C Thong / G-string
These are the very brief back-less type of brief. Popular in BG wrestling videos, they have a brief covering at the front, enough to support the genitals, but a mere strap or string at the rear. The effect is to enhance the buttocks and display them at their best.
D Jockstrap
Every sportsman knows the jock strap and many have experienced wearing it even when it is not necessary in their sport. It can be wide banded in the general issue version and slim banded in the swimmers version. It provides a full and effective support for the genitals and the buttocks, with the aide of two straps which tuck under and provide lift and support. BG has also produced specialist jockstrap wrestling videos, but they tend to look better on the guys who have medium to large size set of buttocks in the first place as opposed to those with flat bony arses.
E Amateur Singlet
The sexless over dressed approach to wrestling. That is how it is viewed by some. A light fitting outfit comprising full hip, and in some, upper leg covering with two straps that go over the shoulders. These can often cause problems as they may be pulled or fall from the shoulders during a rapid fire bout. Some guys complain that such outfits are too restricting for wrestling and cause too much heat to be retained by the wearer.
F Leotard
Similar to the singlet except possibly that the hip area is designed more in the fashion of conventional trunks. Also there is more of a covering of the upper body.
G Wrestling Boots
These are the leather pro-style type of wrestling foot wear available in various colours though black is more popular. They usually end just above or below the calf.
H Wrestling Shoes
This foot wear in the amateur style but is quite popular among submission wrestlers as well. They are smaller than pro-style boots and end either at the base of the calf or just above the ankle.
