| Treasured Thoughts Multi-coloured dreams of how things were before When the love we made was never enough only making us long for more Water coloured paintings of life as it used to be Where the haze of Summer's sunlight made our lives look carefree Black and White images kept in albums to stir the mind To when time was lost in childhood untill innocence was left behind Carefully stored keepsakes of loved sweethearts, family and friends And holidays full of laughter before sadness, as they would end Treasured thoughts of romances are excitedly recalled Before painfull ones also escape from deep inside where they're walled A home full of memories of life lived from day to day Faded happy voices heard, a family's children at play One last time I recollect the togetherness of you and me As I look around the empty rooms and run my hands over the key With tear filled eyes and dejected sigh's as the time comes to sadly leave When all that remains of us living here is our bodies dust to breath |
