Evening's Retreat
~~~
The sweet smell of Honeysuckle, perfumes the evenings dewy air
A busy spider repairs it's silky web, for enticing prey to it's lair
Voices heard across the playing field, as the last Over finishes play
Whilst excited horses in the field behind, enjoy the last gallop of the day
~~~

The sound of an aged sheds creaking door, as garden tools are placed inside
The re-appearance of the Moon, as the tired Sun goes in to hide
An evenings performance of Birdsong, as they sing the day to bed
The watering of flowering baskets and pots, before vegetables are fed

~~~
The cooing of a Wood pigeon as he bids the eve goodnight
Before a 'whoosh' of tiny wings as a swallows black mass takes flight
Scented Roses close their petals, and prepare to sleep till dawn
Slippery Black Slugs slime cautiously, along the dampened lawn
~~~

Lambs in fields chase after their Mothers, with repeated bleeting crys
As the stealthy cloak of darkening night covers the evening skys
Lights go on, windows are closed, as we retreat indoors once more
Leaving Nocturnal creatures to explore the night, as we close and bolt the door.
