movie shows the stresses induced in a pair of meshing gears.
The stresses were calculated using Finite Element Analysis, a
powerful computation tool for many types of engineering analysis
and design work. This kind of analysis can be used to
improve understanding of the operation of mechanical and
biomedical equipment and to evaluate new designs before they are
built.
