I guess I have been lax lately and haven't penned anything for quite some time now. My apologies, but I have been hiding and hoping that I might wake up and find that the nightmare has ended. No such luck folks, we are stuck (sigh).
If it's duplicious, it must be Democrat
As I inferred, you can't be a Democrat unless you have a double standard.
RNC's below-the-belt shot at Pelosi; Politico.com; Andie Coller Andie Coller - May 23, 2009
Point number one, dems are not guilty of hitting below the belt.
She's the 69-year-old speaker of the
House of Representatives, second in the line
of succession and the most powerful woman in
U.S. history.
But when you see Nancy Pelosi, the
Republican National Committee wants you to
think "Pussy Galore."
Point number 2, when speaking of Sara Palin, claim that her recently born son was actually an out of wedlock child of her daughter's. Actually don't think of Pussy Galore, think of the Wicked Witch of the North.
At least that's the takeaway from a video released by the committee this week - a video that puts Pelosi side-by-side with the aforementioned villainess from the 1964 James Bond film "Goldfinger."
She should be so lucky!
The RNC video, which begins with the speaker's head in the iconic spy-series gun sight, implies that Pelosi has used her feminine wiles to dodge the truth about whether or not she was briefed by the CIA on the use of waterboarding in 2002. While the P-word is never mentioned directly, in one section the speaker appears in a split screen alongside the Bond nemesis - and the video's tagline is "Democrats Galore."
Point number 3, don't remind the readers of the movie made on how to assasinate George W. Bush. But, my apology here, that was claimed to be expression of art, not politics.
The wisdom of equating the first woman speaker of the House with a character whose first name also happens to be among the most vulgar terms for a part of the female anatomy might be debated - if the RNC were willing to do so, which it was not. An RNC spokesperson refused repeated requests by POLITICO to explain the point of the video, or the intended connection between Pelosi and Galore.
I could think of more vulgar words to use to equate the speaker with something, but Hitler isn't one of them. Besides that was their term for Bush.
Earlier this week, Pittsburgh radio host Jim Quinn referred to the speaker on his program as "this bitch"; last week, syndicated radio host Neal Boortz opined "how fun it is to watch that hag out there twisting in the wind."
Point number 4, "you can put lipstick on a pig....", stated Dingle-Barry. You got to hand it to Quinn and Boortz, at least their metaphors are accurate.
"It's an attempt to demean your opponent, rather than debate them. If they're serious that this is an issue of national security, then you'd think that one would want to debate it on the merits," she says. "It's almost as if they can't help themselves."
Debate Nancy Pelosi??????? One must have a brain to debate and clearly that bitch lacks a brain. (Sorry couldn't resist the name calling.)
Of course, not all - or even most - of the recent attacks on Pelosi have involved her gender. Indeed, inside the Beltway, the criticism of the speaker has been almost entirely above the belt. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has called for Pelosi's resignation without making cracks about her looks. Former Vice President Dick Cheney called her out Thursday without taking note of her gender. House Minority Leader John Boehner - who wants to move more slowly against Pelosi than some of his more aggressive House brethren - has kept up the pressure on her without marginalizing her as a woman.
I have the answer, put lipstick on the hag and call her a chauvinist pig. At least the NOW gang can do the gender references with proper marginalization.
When you think of Memorial Day, think of Democrats
Now I am sure that there were/are a lot of democraps who served in the US military. I don't deny that and I am not directing any of these comments to you -- either one of you I might add.
Dems red-faced over veteran impostor; By Michael Riley
The Denver Post; May 15, 2009
Since it is Memorial Day weekend I thought this little story was just right for the occassion.
Rick Strandlof, executive director of the Colorado Veterans Alliance and the man most colleagues knew as Rick Duncan, was front and center during the 2008 political campaigns in Colorado.
He spoke at a Barack Obama veterans rally in front of the Capitol in July, co-hosted several events with then- congressional candidate Jared Polis and attacked Republican Senate candidate Bob Schaffer in a TV ad paid for by the national group Votevets.org.
A real patriot. Who Eye? Who are you talking about? Don't you hold anything as sacred? I'm talking about Dingle-Barry. Is this when he refused to wear an American flag pin on his lapel?
Now, politicians are dealing with news that the man they believed to be a former Marine and war veteran wounded in Iraq by a roadside bomb, in fact, never served in the military - but did spend time in a mental hospital.
(snicker, snicker) Mental hospital? Now I am addressing all you Democrats here all 100 million of you. Isn't that where most of you spent your military service? (snicker, snicker)
Many of the candidates he supported won their elections handily and now say they were defrauded as much as anyone else.
"His fraud is a slap in the face to veterans everywhere and a betrayal to us all," Rep. Polis, a Boulder Democrat, said in a written statement Thursday.
Give the man a break. Don't you dems realize Bill Clinton, Jimmy Carter, and Dingle-Barry defrauded you even more than this clown ever could?
"It sounds like this man had a problem telling the truth and needs help," said Tara Trujillo, a spokeswoman for Sen. Mark Udall, D-Colo.
I need some help here. Can someone point out which Democrat ever has told the truth?
There is little doubt that Strandlof had a remarkable ability to fool people, something aided by the fact that among his fabrications was his claim that he suffered a severe brain injury, which helped cover behavior that associates now concede was often erratic and strange.
Help me out again. What is so remarkable about that? He's a democrat ain't he? They've been fooling people for decades. (snicker, snicker)
