Well it's over you say? It certainly has all the appearances of being over, but I reserve my right to wait. It's only June and you know the Clingon Clintons. However, let's savor the moment - Ding Dong the Witch is Dead.
Prepare yourselves for ...
...a never ending stream of liberal bullshit via the news.
Clinton Ends White House Bid
New York Senator Endorses Barack Obama, Pledges "Full Support"; CBSnews.com, June 7, 2008
I agree, she appears to be dead, unconscious at least.
Hillary Rodham Clinton ended her historic campaign for the presidency on Saturday and told supporters to unite behind rival Barack Obama, closing out a race that was as grueling as it was groundbreaking.
Is she still breathing is the real question.
The former first lady, who as recently as Tuesday declared herself the strongest candidate, gave Obama an unqualified endorsement and pivoted from her role as determined foe to absolute ally in the general election campaign against Republican John McCain.
Is there any pulse?
"The way to continue our fight now to accomplish the goals for which we stand is to take our energy, our passion, our strength and do all we can to help elect Barack Obama, the next president of the United States," she said ...
Have you looked into her eyes (puke)?
It was a show of support Democrats hope will help heal a party fractured along racial and gender lines by the intense marathon 50-state nominating contest. Clinton reminded her supporters of the stakes for Democrats this fall as they seek to reclaim the White House after eight years of Republican control.
50 states? I thought there were 58. At least that's what Odumbo said, and claimed to have campaigned in 57 of them with one more to go.
Clinton will "suspend" her campaign rather than end it because doing so allows her to continue to raise money to cover her campaign debt, which may be as high as $30 million a Clinton aide told CBS News.
Wanna know the truth? It's gonna cost Odumbo a lotta money now that she tossed in her hat. You don't think the Clingons did this for the party do you?
Prepare yourselves for...
...puff pieces for both these pathetic candidates.
Obama First in More Ways Than Any U.S. Presidential Candidate Julianna Goldman, Jun 7, 2008; Bloomberg/yahoonews.com
If this story isn't enough to make you ill, just
stick around, you ain't seen nothin' yet.
Barack Obama's political career boasts a long list of firsts. He is the first presumptive presidential nominee to be a native of Hawaii and the president of the Harvard Law Review. He's also the first candidate with more than 1 million contributors.
You will get tired of lists of firsts as this thing goes on (and on, and on, and on...).
Obama, an Illinois senator, is the first presumptive presidential nominee in modern times to have a father who wasn't a U.S. citizen, the first to earn an undergraduate degree from Columbia University in New York and the first to have attended Occidental College in Los Angeles.
...and the first to use Preparation H (just thought I'd throw that in).
Obama has also chalked up many near-firsts in the race for the White House. He is the fourth Illinois elected official to clinch a party presidential nomination; if elected he would be the first since Abraham Lincoln. Ronald Reagan was born in Illinois and was governor of California. Obama is the only first-term senator to lead a major party since Warren Harding in 1920.
I know one thing he can't ever claim as first.
If Obama were to win, he would be the first U.S. president from Harvard Law School since Hayes, who graduated in 1845. Presidential nominees with Harvard degrees include Michael Dukakis, who graduated from the law school, and Al Gore.
He cannot claim one thing as being the first, but proudly claims the second.
Obama, who will officially be nominated at the Democratic convention on the 100th birthday of Lyndon B. Johnson and will deliver his acceptance speech 45 years to the day after Martin Luther King Jr.'s ``I have a Dream Speech,'' has become the first black candidate to lead a major U.S. party.
First, first, first --- yeah, I'm already tired of that. But you wanna know what he's second at? Why this man is the "Second Coming", haven't you figured that out yet?
