THE EYE KNOWS

Here I am, back atcha with another one. I have been on a sabbatical for about 3 years. Nothing on the liberal side has changed, only the faces they put in front of us. That reminds me; the less I see of Broom Hillary's face the more I like it. But that is not meant to be, we are going to see more and more of her and her liberal leftist ideas as the campaigns heat up.

What the Media doesn't know about Asia (or anywhere else for that matter)

"Eye you are such a pompous bastard, you think you know everything." I do, those are my qualifications, I know everything.

Asia's Western habits may lead to cancer surge; AP/Msnbcnews.com; May 30, 2007

As some of you know, I have lived in Asia for the last 25 years or so. My first trip was in 1969. I think I know a tiny bit about the place, but that's more than I can say about the author of this article.

Asia is bracing for a dramatic surge in cancer rates over the next decade as people in the developing world live longer and adopt bad Western habits that greatly increase the risk of the disease.

Look who is to blame - The West, but in particular, the United States as we shall soon see.
Smoking, drinking and eating unhealthy foods - all linked to various cancers - will combine with larger populations and fewer deaths from infectious diseases to drive Asian cancer rates up 60 percent by 2020, some experts predict.

Someone enlighten me here, but since when have the roots of smoking and drinking been traced to the West? Believe it or not, beer was invented in Egypt long before Moses headed to the Promised Land.
"The habit of alcohol consumption, smoking and dietary changes will increase the risk of Western world cancers to the Eastern world," Shah said.
I guess Eastern world cancers get a pass here.
While Americans and Europeans have been abandoning smoking, an estimated 300 million men are puffing away in China - equal to the entire U.S. population. If nothing changes, a third of Chinese men under age 30 are predicted to die from tobacco, with lung cancer already the biggest cancer killer there.
Damn those Americans. The Chinese have substitued opium usage with tobacco.
Smokeless tobacco is also a big problem in Asia's other giant, India, where many men and women chew some form of tobacco. Mouth cancer makes up half of all new cases in parts of the country.
Double damn those Yanks. The Asains have replaced betelnut with snuff.
A lack of vaccines that prevent cancer- causing viruses is another obstacle for Asia, which is home to about three-quarters of the world's liver cancers, caused largely by Hepatitis B infections.
Sorta getting tired of damning the Yankees here, but this problem is ours too? The libs would have you believe that it is all the West's (i.e. America) fault. They never once considered that the capitalistic Yanks have replaced shorter life spans, undernouished and starvation with tobacco, booze, transfat and a dozen years or more of life. The liberal solution is to spread the wealth of captialism to the poor. Damn those liberals. They want equal misery.

Articles to evoke Emotion

Quite often we get stories from our main stream buddies that are meaningless. Today is no exception.

Calif. prisons trying to reduce suicides; By DON THOMPSON, Associated Press Writer; May 28, 2007
You might think I am some sort of a callous and crude person. If you do then you are partially correct. However, this story is truly a non-story. It should be relegated to the trash heap along with Alberto Gonzalez's story of firing 8 U.S. attorneys.

Every 30 minutes, day and night, guards walk the tiers of the isolation unit at California State Prison, Sacramento, checking inmates to make sure they don't kill themselves.
Don't get me wrong, I am not for suicide nor do I enjoy reading or hearing about it no matter who or where it happens.

Guards have reported preventing more than 60 suicides in segregation cells so far this year - out of more than 170 suicides attempted during the past five months in the state's 33 adult prisons.

Let's hear it for the guards. Someone has to want to do the job.

Last year, a record 43 inmates killed themselves in California prisons - nearly half in isolation units. California's rate of 25.5 deaths per 100,000 inmates is nearly double the nationwide prison suicide rate of 14 per 100,000, according to the federal Bureau of Justice Statistics.
Let's face it, being in prison is not a place where most people want to find themselves or want to be in. For some a deadend street (no pun intended). "So what's the problem Eye? You know-it-all, don't you?" The problem is, the suicide rate in America is 28.2 per 100,000. Based on liberal thought processes, it would be better if America's entire population were incarcerated. Less lives would be lost to suicides that way.

Since we are on the subject of Suicide...

So let's follow the subject a little bit further. Our liberal friends want to beat a dead horse anyway.

Apparent Gitmo suicide was Saudi veteran; By BEN FOX, Associated Press Writer; May 31st, 2008
So we are here at the torture chambers at Gitmo Cuba where those who have vowed to kill America and the Western way of life, much like Americans are trying to kill everyone with cigarettes and beer and fatty food. Only difference is, these guys prefer to do it a little quicker, like beheading and bombing.

The detainee who died at Guantanamo Bay in an apparent suicide was identified Thursday as a Saudi military veteran and self-described Islamic holy warrior who denied he ever intended to kill Americans.
Wanna bet our liberal media friends believed this guy's denials.

The military and Saudi Arabia identified the detainee as Abdul Rahman Maadha al-Amry. Though it gave no details about him, U.S. records say he was 34 and had been held without charges at the prison at the Guantanamo Bay naval base in southeastern Cuba since February 2002.
Gasp! The poor guy is held without charges against his will. How awfully cruel.

The U.S. military said al-Amry was not breathing when he was found Wednesday by guards in Camp 5, a modern, high-security section of Guantanamo generally reserved for detainees who are considered to have intelligence value or who do not follow prison rules.
According to the headline, it was an apparent suicide. Now since it is only alleged, the fact that he was not breathing when he was found does not necessarily mean he is dead. Maybe we can hold out in hopes that he is in actuality, not dead.

The military has also not disclosed any potential motive for suicide, although Guantanamo critics say indefinite confinement in the solid wall, one-person cells for all but about two hours a day at Camps 5 and 6 has caused depression among detainees. "Camp 5 is just utterly grim psychologically," said Sabin Willett, a lawyer for Guantanamo detainees. "There's no question that isolation destroys human beings."
Isn't that just like the American way of doing things. Instead of cigarettes or fatty foods, isolate the guy and destroy him. Why can't we be humane like the terrorists and just cut their heads off. We then wouldn't have to guess why he stopped breathing.
