I debated whether to do a "best of" commentary to close out the year, but, everything I did was so great I wouldn't have the room. It's hell being THAT good.
Now that I have alienated all my loyal readers (the entire dozen), I will say Happy New Year and get ready for the sleaziest of sleazy presidential campaigns in the history of the nation.
Let's Hear it for the BroomRider
I found this story extremely interesting, but moreso, extremely telling. What's that Eye? Are you playing Mr. Know-it-all again? Notice the timeline here. Notice the people mentioned. Look at the facts(?) being presented. I will now explain.
Poll: Obama, Huckabee slipping among Iowa
men; December 25, 2007; Rebecca Sinderbrand; CNNpolitics.com
Aww, isn't that nice, a wonderful Christmas present for Broom Hillary. A massive voter switch to her camp.
Call it an early Christmas gift for Hillary
Clinton's campaign: A new Iowa poll seems
to show the New York senator with a stunning
double-digit lead over her nearest rival
among likely Democratic caucus-goers.
To Broomer supporters this seems like great news. (Pssst, what is the Christmas present?) Double digit lead! My, my, that IS impressive.
Clinton and Obama were neck-and-neck in last week's American Research Group poll. But in the new survey, conducted December 20-23, she leads the Illinois senator by 15 percentage points, 34 to 19 percent. Obama is now in a statistical tie for second place with former North Carolina senator John Edwards, who has 20 percent of the vote.
Wow! What a poll shift!! (Pssst, what is the Christmas present?) From a statistical tie to a double digit lead, all in one week. How about a 21 gun salute for the smartest woman on the planet.
As Hillary Clinton appears to be breaking
away from the pack, the Republican race in
Iowa may be tightening up. A week ago, an
ARG poll placed Mike Huckabee over Mitt
Romney by an 11-point margin among likely
Republican caucus-goers, but the latest poll
by the group puts the two back in a statistical
tie, 23 to 21 percent. John McCain has 17
percent of the vote, Rudy Giuliani has 14
percent, and Ron Paul has 10 percent in the
latest poll, up from 4 percent last week.
Loooookkkkeeee that, a runaway leader for the liberals and a tightening of the pack for those nasty, mean, and bad conservatives. (Pssst, what is the Christmas present?) What's wrong with you Eye? You just can't stand to see a winner like Hillary, can you? Makes you look stupid, doesn't it? (Pssst, what is the Christmas present?)
Like Obama, the poll indicates that Huckabee's support among male voters in Iowa may be slipping. Last week, Huckabee had 31 percent support among Republican men; this week, he and Rudy Giuliani are tied at 20 percent. John McCain and Mitt Romney both have the support of 17 percent of the GOP's likely male caucus goers.
Lookee there Eye, your Republican candidates
can't make up their minds. They don't have
anyone to put up against our "world-class-
genius". They are like a ship without a rudder, moving aimlessly out at sea. (Pssst, what is the Christmas present?)
Ok, let's look at this. Remember what I said in the beginning -- look at the date, the people and the facts mentioned. (Pssst, what is the Christmas present?)
The most recent ARG polls have
a margin of error of plus or minus 4
percentage points. The polls were conducted
over the phone, and had a sample size of 600
likely Democratic and 600 Republican caucus
-goers living in Iowa, respectively.
The facts are all in. Anyone notice anything strange here?
It's Christmas, so does this make for a Christmas story? Nope, it's 9 days till the Iowa caucus selection.
Look at the people mentioned, or should I say, the one not mentioned. Who is it the liberal media fears most? He is the one whose gone missing from this story.
The facts? Yeah, who was polled for the democrats? Who was polled for the Republicans? Let's see, there were 600 Iowa caucus-goers for the Repubs and a "phone" sample of 600 "likely voters" for the dems. Anyone notice that it doesn't mention IOWA likely voters? Of course that is only a minor technicality. Look at how clumsily the writer presented those poll samples. Twisted that enough to make you think they were comparing apples to apples.
The people mentioned are, of course, the main front runners, with one missing. Who is that one? Fred Thompson. He is the candidate the liberal media fears most and that's why he's gone missing in this story. (Pssst. What is the Christmas present?)
Sorry, almost forgot to answer that. Is the Christmas present the massive movement for the Broom Lady? Nope. Is the Christmas present the disarray of the Republicans failing to embrace a frontrunner? Nope.
Quite simply, Merry Christmas BroomRider, CNN is attempting to bestow their propaganda gift upon you as the unquestioned leader.
Last week Broom Hillary was playing down Iowa as unimportant as she was inevitably losing there. Now all of a sudden a huge turnaround for what essentially is "no apparent reason". She can't win Iowa. Well, not unless they bus and fly in a 100,000 people to vote for her...... -- wait a minute, maybe she can win.
Happy New Year to all of you. See
you in
2008.
