THE EYE KNOWS

You of course have followed the tragedy that happened in Minnesota. Whats that Eye? Whats that? The bridge collapse? Youre somewhat correct, the real tragedy is the blame game. That in the end will be more tragic than the bridge. Pathetic, but thats the mainstream media.

Of course it was Bushs fault. . .

I will lead with this story just to keep in stride with the rest of the reporting. Not that I go along with the media, I have my own take.

Blaming begins in Minneapolis bridge collapse; By Todd Melby; Reuters
No one yet blamed it on global warming, but hang on, eventually they will.

Politicians trying to account for one of the worst bridge collapses in U.S. history cast blame ranging from engineering faults to the Iraq war on Friday, while divers tried to reach the bodies of more victims in the Mississippi River's treacherous waters.
The Iraq war causation is a stretch, but hey, were talking liberals here. Anything is possible.

U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, a Minnesota Democrat, suggested Bush administration spending on the Iraq war may have crimped funding for domestic projects such as road and bridge construction, and for such infrastructure projects as new levees for New Orleans.
Levees in New Orleans? Stay with me on this one now.

"We've spent $500 billion in Iraq and we have bridges falling down in this country," Klobuchar told MSNBC. "I see a connection between messed-up priorities."
Not to mention that the state of Minnesota is swimming in excess revenue from taxpayers.

President George W. Bush is scheduled to tour the scene on Saturday.
Lets look at this logically. The NYC twin towers was an inside job and blown up by the Bush administration. New Orleans was an inside job and the levees were blown up by the Bush administration. Hang on to your butts here folks, we have to hear from the conspiracy theorists who have yet to claim that the bridge was blown up by the Bush administration. Just another inside job. Bush also has a pattern of visiting the disaster areas shortly after these bombs wreak their havoc. Nothing like a bomb or two to help floundering poll numbers. Ask Billie-bob Clinton. He used them to cover a little extra-curriculor activities with his willie and a cigar. You dont think Bush was smart enough to come up with this bombing strategy on his own, do you?

Okay, lets play Rodney Dangerfield tag. I take the mainstream media comments and throw a one-liner at it. Our first story:

I'm late, cried the White Rabbit

Here is a AP story on flight delays.

Flight delays at worst level in 13 years; By ALAN ZIBEL, AP Business Writer; Mon Aug 6, 2007
... the industry's on-time performance in the first six months of the year was its worst since 1995...

...worsening delays is that demand for air travel is rising...

Reports of mishandled baggage and complaints...

...the increased delays on a lack of a modern satellite-based air traffic control system...

Im sure its nothing to do with additional security.....

The industry, along with the Federal Aviation Administration, has been pushing for a sweeping upgrade to the existing radar-based system, but has been caught up in an intense political battle over who will foot the bill...
Hehehe, yeah, when in doubt, follow the money, but in either case as to who pays, the airlines or government, the traveller and/or taxpayer foot the bill.

The liberal conundrum

For all you animal lovers here is one for you.

It's cats vs. rare bird in N.J. town By WAYNE PARRY, Associated Press Writer; August 5, 2007
Cats are as much a part of this seaside town's genteel culture...
They're also suspect No. 1 in many deaths of the endangered piping plover, a fist-sized, white-and-brown fuzzball of a bird that has closed beaches and stopped development projects...
With only 115 pairs of piping plovers left in the state, the federal government may intervene on the side of the birds...
"This is a very emotional issue; this really is a cat town," said resident Pat Peckham.
"I think the cats are more of a nuisance than anything else," said resident Bill Schemel. "They're killing endangered birds that belong out here.
Cat lovers across the country are keeping watch so strays aren't sent to shelters, where most are euthanized if they can't find a home.
Why cant you people see the real problem in this issue? You are so stupid, its George Bush and global warming. Warm weather breeds cats and birds (and liberals).

Its the bottom of the 9th...

For all you sport enthusiasts:

Six coal miners trapped in Utah mine collapse By James Nelson; Aug 6, 2007
Six miners were trapped in the collapse of a coal mine in central Utah on Monday...
"They could be in a chamber that is 1,000 feet long or they could be dead," Murray said, adding that "time is of the essence."
Concerns about mine safety in the United States resurfaced last year when 12 miners were killed in an explosion at International Coal Group's Sago mine in West Virginia.
(Im not making light of the situation of the miners and the bridge or life and death, dont misunderstand me, please.) If you look at it, a bridge crashes across the Mississippi which kills 5 and the liberals scream unsafe bridges and 70,000 bridges are classified as structurally damaged. Its a way to raise taxes. Looking at the score here though, Id have to say mining is the winner. Five people on that bridge at that time in that traffic, didnt quite reach the tragedy level.

Time to move the goal posts

While on the sports analogy, here is another one for you:

Latest poll shows growing support for Iraq war policy; USAToday; August 8, 2007.
USA TODAY's Susan Page reports that President Bush is making some headway in arguing that the increase in U.S. troops in Iraq is showing military progress.
Analysis: Military Shows Gains in Iraq; Aug, 2007; By ROBERT BURNS; AP Military Writer
The new U.S. military strategy in Iraq, unveiled six months ago to little acclaim, is working.
Great news, isnt it!!??

Iraqi Political Crisis Grows; Aug 6, 2007; By SAMEER N. YACOUB; Associated Press Writer
Iraq's political crisis worsened Monday as five more ministers announced a boycott of Cabinet meetings leaving the embattled prime minister's unity government with no members affiliated with Sunni political factions.
The mantra and goalposts have moved again. Whatever happened to, Capturing Baghdad means nothing unless we get Saddam Hussein, or Now that we captured him, it means nothing if we cant stop the insurgents, or The Iraqis need to govern themselves? Looks to me like every success is being met with media failure.
