| This book has 26 recipes for making dry cookie mixes layered in quart jars. They are wonderful, unusual gifts, and are so easy to make! -They require NO cooking on the part of you, the one making the mix -They are very inexpensive gifts to make -They can be made ahead of time because there is nothing in them that can or will spoil over a few months The top of each page lists the ingredients and gives the instructions for layering each of them in the jar. The bottom of each page has instructions for turning the mix into cookies. The person to whom you give the mix to, will need to have a copy of the instructions for turning the mix into cookies, in which, you can attach to the jar with a ribbon. You can put the instuctions onto the card in one of these ways: -Hand write the instuctions on a recipe card -Type them onto your computer and then print them out -Or you can make photographic copies of the instructions -Decorating the Jars- The jars are easy to decorate and there are many ways you can do it. Here are a few ideas: -Cut a circle of wrapping paper or fabric (in colors to match the occassion) and secure it to the lid with a rubber band. Tie a bow of ribbon or rafia around the lid. -Put the fabric under the cover of the gold ring part of the lid. It is a good idea to tape the flat gold seal down to keep the mix from spilling out if the ring is unscrewed too quickly. |
