Presenting:
ELLEN
Ellen, quiet, calm, and soft-spoken. A welcome oasis in the group of extroverted and often boisterous Granny Gears.
Ellen has four children, Bonnie, Paul, Cathy and Mekde. One of Ellen's daughters is of Ethiopian decent. Ellen also has five
grandchildren, who range in age from nine years to 18 mos. Like most

Ellen's professional life is also important to her. She is a registered nurse. She works full time at her profession and will continue to do so until she retires in February of 1999.
Ellen's membership in the American Holistic Nurses Association, along with her interest in alternative methods of healing and wellness and her involvement in the local organization of "Simply Living", have had a profound effect on her lifestyle.
What is Simply Living? It is a group of people with similar beliefs, who have banded together to achieve a common goal. They strive to educate themselves and each other to live simply, joyfully, and sustainably on the planet, through learning groups. Their motto, "we strive to become the change we seek for the world", aptly describes their goal. You can visit the Simply Living Web site:
Ellen is eagerly making plans for her coming retirement. Being an avid cyclist, she plans to do more cycling trips. Traveling to far off places, will also be one of Ellen's priorities. Like the other Granny Gears, she will probably combine these two activities. We have found that cycling is an excellent way to "see" a foreign country.
Among other activities being considered in Ellen's future are, the Peace Corp, Habitat for Humanity, Global Volunteers, and anything else that might strike her fancy.
Now it's your
turn. Ellen wants to know all about YOU.
