| Autumn English Course in Granite |

| Do you remember the mini-work camp we had in Wu Kau Tang last April, in which we did some cleaning and cutting off of some unwanted vegetation inside the garden? Well, the Centre's renovation and furnishing was completed in mid-July. In fact, we have already organized two youth camps there, one at the end of July and the other in August. Everyone enjoyed so much, especially the sailing and biking in Tai Mei Tuk and the hiking to Bride's Pool. Above all, everyone experienced the fun of living with many other students in the same building. We had to take turns preparing the meals and washing the dishes afterwards. We have learned that teamwork makes that task to be done a lot smoother and faster and that we have to show concern towards others by thinking less of our own personal comfort and convenience. | The English Course at Granite has just come to a successful end at the end of August this year, thanks to the assistance of the two Canadians - Mike Irizar and Spence Jongkind - who had so much fun teaching HK boys. There were two prorgrammes held in two different venues. The programme held in Tak Sun School (Austin Road) had around 30 incoming primary 6 students; another one was held in Granite Study Centre attended by around 10 forms 1 to 3 students. Of course, the students had so much fun learning English under Mike and Spence! | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
