December shimmers. The air trills with prayers and songs, rising from all corners, all voices. Darkness is pierced by candles, lanterns and bright smiles. So many faiths have holy days during this month. The best-known may be the radiant joy of Christmas, the miracle of Hanukkah, the solemn fasting of Ramadan with its concluding feast of Eid al-Fitr. But many ancient faiths mark days of prayer, celebration and rededication during these same waning days of the year. This December brings a convergence of many days of faith.

To all of you that reunite yourselves around the love for the VW Beetle, independently of which believe you may have, I wish Love and Peace in this month in which so may persons from all the world and different religions commemorate their faith.

May the love for the VW Beetle be the reason of joy and realization!

This is also the time to revise the year that is about to end, as well as to define the goals for the coming year...

In 2000 emphasis was given to the work in the Site "The VW Beetle and the Pop Art". The QUEST's Site reached 131 pages that occupy 64 MB. This is the moment to thank to all that collaborated with the survey by sending material, divulging the Site or helping in many ways. I also thank to the visitors; the counter registered over 36.000 Home Page visitors.

I have one major goal for 2001, besides the continuity of the survey work. This goal is:

-With the death of my friend Heinz-Willli Lottermann, a world-wide known Volkswagen fan (1), it became more actual than ever the launching of the "VW-Halla", one homage place for the eminent VW Beetle fans that already passed away. One Valhalla (mythological heaven) for the distinguished VW Beetle activists. This movement was already started in July 1999, now we will give continuity to this work which conclusion depends upon the participation of the greatest possible number of clubs and VW Beetle lovers of all around the world. There are some definitions related to organization that are still to be met as: place, criteria of choice of participants, etc. I do welcome suggestions, because this is a broad subject. You can participate leaving your opinion in the guest-book below.

(1) Mr. Lottermann was the one that did organize the famous Bad Camberg encounters in Germany. It was there that I had the chance to launch the World Wide Day Of the VW Beetle (22nd of June of each year).
