| We first got Satins in the spring of 2000. I started off with a pair from Kari Grossman to show at the local County Fair, thinking I probably wouldn't keep them that long, I was wrong. I really enjoyed them. My first two are gone, (one which one Best in Show at the Memorial Day Hutchinson, MN show and also Grand Champion Rabbit at my local County Fair). We raise Blacks and Broken Blacks, with an occasional color here and there. Since they are so big, we have limited room for them, therefore having few varieties and few in numbers. I have learned a lot from raising this breed, like about a 6 Class rabbits, fur (satin), and a meat rabbit. They are also very friendly, and are very calm. This is a great breed because they have a great personality as well as a nice coat. In 2005 my brother, Travis, took over the Satins. This was nice because I have too much to do with my other breeds and college homework. This was a nice change because the Satins still could be at our place, but one it is one less thing I need to worry about. Because of the change in ownership, I seperated our winnings with the Satins into each of our names so it is easier to view. Those achievements are listed below. |
