Dear Nick,
Thank you for your letter, which came a couple of days ago.
It’s always interesting to read your letters. They are full of useful information and humour.
Well, as far as my life in London is concerned, it’s really exciting. My English classes are really useful. I do my best to improve my English: after classes I attend a language lab, I try to talk to locals wherever it is possible. In the evening I usually watch TV.
The language course is good but harder than I thought. It consists of English Phonetics, Grammar, English Literature, History of the English Language. Besides, my tutor strongly recommended that I have some additional lessons in Introduction to Literature, which is a study of genres, themes, techniques and methods of literary analysis through selected works by modern English writers. I should also study Advanced Composition, a practical course for students who desire additional instruction and experience in writing. My English teacher puts special emphasis on developing techniques of effective written communication.
I hope that you’ll have the possibility to take English courses in London and I’ll see you there. I’m sure you’ll enjoy every minute of your stay in London.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Take care,
Jane
