Dear family and friends: As you may have already heard, plans are underway for an Urquhart-Matheson Family Reunion in Grand River, Nova Scotia. This reunion is intended to bring the families of Catherine "Kaye" (nee Matheson) and Lawson Urquhart together in a place where we all have deep roots – Grand River. The idea for the reunion started with plans for the 90^th birthday celebration for Kaye Urquhart (June 11th, 2003). As the plans grew, the weekend of August 9^th and 10^th 2003 was chosen. This weekend coincides with Grand River Days and we anticipate our presense will be a boost to the community efforts. This newsletter is the first contact of what we hope to be many letters to inform you of our plans and to allow you time to make plans of your own. So far, all that has been decided upon is the date and location for the opening registration (Wine & Cheese at the Matheson Residence). If you would like to help with the planning and organizing of this reunion, please don’t hesitate to contact us. How can you help? We need your help with ideas, contacts, history, stories, fundraising, prizes, talent and anything else you might think of! How can you help?
