KISTA 4.. ASEAN was formed on 8th August 1967 and the five member countries were Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. (Singapore was not on the original proposal but was accepted by her own request.). Kursus Istimewa (KISTA) was meant for senior officials of the ASEAN member countries Indonesia organised the first course from October 1073 to January 1974. I had the honour to attend the forth course (KISTA 4) which was hosted by Thailand at their National Defence College, in 1977. For KISTA 4 each country was allocated four places. Malaysia's participants were Karim Mazuki from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ungku Adnan from the Prime Ministers Department, Sidek from the Royal Malaysian Navy and myself from the Army. |
