| Back in Taiping with 2 Sqn. It was great being back with the family. Was able to get together in the evenings and weekends with friends like Kandyappan and Rasamah. Dorairajoo got married to Mary Ann. |
Back in MINDEF as SO 2 Engrs before proceeding to East Malaysia as CME at HQ LFEM. |
| Return to Kuala Lumpur. Took over as Chief Engineer on 11th Feb 1968 from Col Frankau RE and became the first Malaysian to hold this post. Elections. There was "Freedom of Speech". Political parties were racially polarised. Racial issues were vote winners.but they are "dynamite" in a plural society of ours. The politicians used it and we paid the "price" of the "racial" riots on 13th May 1969. |
