| Rokuni's father was Mr. Kandiah who worked in the Malayan Railway District Engineer's office in Johor Bahru. Mr and Mrs Kandiah had 8 children, 5 sons and 3 daughters. Rokuni was the youngest of the 3 daughters. They lived in No. 10 Railway Quarters which is where I first met her way back in the 1940s when we were still "kids". From friends we became lovers and ended up as husband and wife and are living happily ever after. |

| Rokuni was educated at the Sultan Ibrahim Girls School in Johor Baru. She is standing on the extreme right. |

| We got married on 15th Nov 1956 at a Hindu Temple in Singapore and started our married life by moving into the house allocated to me (picture right) at the 3rd mile Mersing Road Camp in Kluang |
