5.25.03 - 4H Building - Faribault, MN
Set: Moonlit, Never There, -7-, Implant, Candlelit, Untitled (If We), Hollow, Queen, Free (Jam) Notes: A dress rehearsal for the rest of the summer shows at Nic's graduation party. Some good Jam's and moments throughout the afternoon with a small crowd. -7- was dedicated to Nic.
6.8.03 - 400 Bar - Minneapolis, MN
Set: Moonlit, Never There, -7-, Candlelit, Implant, Untitled (If We), Queen Free Notes: A technically challenged summer opener for the Squash. Mike Marquard had lots of guitar trouble and the boys really had trouble getting everything together. Definetely the cause of lack of rehearsal. Free was together which shows signs that the summer is promising. Candlelit was also good and everyone went nuts for a subpar version of Implant. Thirty Days to Boston and Eclipted opened. Available on: CD
6.25.03 - First Avenue (7th Street) - Minneapolis, MN
Set: Implant, Queen, It's been ten years and I still don't believe you, Candlelit, Moonlit, -7- Notes: A beautiful welcome for GSquash into the world of 1st Ave. The boys rocked straight through playing every song to it's fullest. -7- was incredible with great grooves running throughout the solo sections. Implant was a great opener. "It's been 10 years.." is the new title of If We. A new version of Moonlit was played that had a heavy intro and a more up-tempo feel.
6.27.03 - The Garage (lounge) - Burnsville, MN
Set: Moonlit, Never There, Spin, For Amy, Hollow, Implant, Free Notes: A good sized crowd for the lounge. GSquash once again played awesome at the Garage as usual stunning the audience that actually showed up. Implant was played perfectly and with incredible energy....maybe the best performance of it in history. Spin played for the first time this year. For Amy is a new song by Marquard that sounds promising. Thirty Days to Boston opened.
6.28.03 - Twin Cities Underground - Minneapolis, MN
Set: Queen, If We, Candlelit, Implant, Hollow, Spin, For Amy, -7- Notes: Very small crowd at a new club....similar idea of the Garage, but still in a very immature stage. The sound was very poor quality which left the band sounding muffled. Despite the problems there was still a few shining moments. Implant featured anti-gun lyrics i.e. "Trade your guns in for books." -7- was extremely long and very jammy falling into a lot of grooves...this song always seems to be changing. Thirty Days to Boston opened. Available on: CD
6.29.03 - 400 Bar - Minneapolis, MN
Set: -7-, Spin, For Amy, Implant, Queen, Free Notes: Another stunning show. Marquard was lacking a little vocal energy compared to the last few nights, but the music made up for it. -7- is a surprise opener, but it seemed to lack some energy. For Amy was very good. Implant once again featured anti-gun lyrics. Free was very good and very heavy. GSquash was very grateful to open for ELA and Carissa's Wierd - two very amazing bands.
7.25.03 - Elks Lodge (Coloring Book Release) - Faribault, MN
Set: Implant, Ten Years..., Candlelit, Hollow, Brain of J (Pearl Jam), Queen, Lucky, Never There, Moonlit, Spin, Someday (Eclipted), For Amy, -7- Notes: Quite possible the best GSquash show of all time. This show was pretty much a highlight for every one in the group with the end being near and the accomplishments reaching a peak. Unfortunately the crowd thinned greatly after Eclipted, but for those who stayed they got a great show. Too many highlights to list. Preceeded by Eclipted and Thirty Days to Boston. Available on: CD and maybe video someday.
7.26.03 - The Garage - Burnsville, MN
Set: Random selections in random order..... Notes: This show should not have existed. It was the worst piece of organiztion GSquash has ever seen and it finally got to everyone after quite an excruciating summer. Much anger and little care for the music.
8.16.03 - Central Park (Faribault FreeRock 3) - Faribault, MN
Set (may be innaccurate): Free, Queen, Brain of J, Implant, Candlelit, 10 years, Moonlit, For Amy, -7- Notes: Quite possible the last Squash show in History. Definetley was not the best in history. Marquard had his amp die in the middle of Queen which quickly put a damper on everything as did the 90 degree and humid heat. Preeceeded by The Next Step, Thirty Days to Boston. Followed by Slightly Ajar and Eclipted.
