In Sept. 1999, I made a trip to Head Harbour to see if the stories I had heard about the deterioration of the lighthouse were true, and was surprised and delighted to see that most of the station had been painted. As you can see from the following photos, only the boathouse is is very poor condition. Perhaps the Coast Guard plans to tear it down.
