| When I first met Darren, he showed me a quilt that his ex-in-law made 20 yrs ago. He asked me if I could repair it. I told him I would do my best, but didn't have much hope for it. Many pieces of fabric was worn out, seams were apart and the batting was totally destroyed. I very slowly & carefully took it apart, stitch by stitch. I had no other choice but to replace some blocks with scrap fabric of my own, new batting & new borders. I wish now I had taken a before picture of this quilt. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| This is my first quilt I made from scratch. I made it for Darren. I named it "Sweet Dreams, Darren". It has 2, 520 pieces cut & sew back together out of 11 different fabrics. It is 88" x 85" @ 3" blocks. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| I made this quilt for Darren's oldest son, Dearl which consists of 9 baggy pairs of Dearl's jeans. You can't tell by this picture, but I left the seams on the outside of all these squares and fringed them. This picture doesn't do it any justice. Even though this one got burned up in Dearl's apartment fire, I do now have a different one at home to show you.You got to see it ! See previous page for more denim! |

| FYI: The little girl that is on this page and the following pages is my granddaughter, Shayanne. She has been there and watched me make everyone of these quilts and other things. She was so patient for Grandma Ginny! |
