Ray Hunter
PROFILE:
On February 9, 1999 Ray Hunter was elected to the House of Assembly to represent the
people of the District of Windsor Springdale. Since that time major
electoral changes have taken place. The new district will now include
the communities of South Brook, Robert’s Arm, Miles
Cove, Port Anson, Lushes Bight, Beaumont, Beaumont North, Pilley's Island,
Triton, Brighton, and part of the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor.
The Windsor-Springdale riding
as of October 9,2007 will be known as The District of Grand
Falls-Windsor–Green Bay South. Ray has served the people of
Windsor-Springdale faithfully for the last eight years and will continue to
do so when elected on October 9.
When in opposition Ray was appointed
Critic for Forestry and Agrifoods, and Vice-Chair of the Caucus Strategy
Committee. As a member of Government Ray has served on the public accounts
and resource committee and others. He graduated from F.G. Bursey Memorial Collegiate in 1972.
Ray went on to graduate in Basic
Electrical from the Trades College at Grand Falls-Windsor in 1973. He
received his journeyman's papers from the Trades College in St. John's in
1976.
He was former owner-operator of his own business - Hunter's Electrical
Ltd. Ray and his wife Martha have one daughter Laura son Jason, daughter
in-law Renee and one grandchild Mallory . Ray has lived in Grand Falls-Windsor
all his life. He has
