The building is made to be compact in its nature barring
the concept of unity. The axis of the building descends from South to North
locating different functions on each level: Conservation, Scientific Institute
(located at the South end of the axis). The Entrance, Temporary Exhibition,
Children's Museum etc., (located descending towards North, on the level
below it lays the Security and Control Services.
The Permanent Exhibition lays on the axis going down North where the
Museological Storage rests connected directly with the exhibition halls
through vertical circulation nodes. Below the latter comes the Garage connected
with all circulation vertical nodes.
The Commercial and Recreational activities settle in the North end of
the axis thus interacting with the end of the exhibition itinerary as well
as the street.
Structural concept is based on the circulation network considering the
entire vertical and horizontal lanes as structural members that form a sort
of a skeleton supporting the modular units and the other constructed volumes.
