Wizard magic in Zakhara is split into five provinces. These are: Sand, Flame, Sea and Wind and Universal. The first four represent the elements that make up the Land of Fate and the way people live there, subject to these elements.

These elements are hard to tame, and only the sha'irs with help from geniekind have the power to cast spells from all these provinces. Other wizards specialise in only one or two areas.

Saher - These are the most common kind of wizard in Zakhara. They choose two of the elemental provinces to study and master.

Elemental Mage - These specialise in only one elemental province, and due to this single-mindedness gain greater control over it and get bonus spells and more damage from their attacks. However they are not trusted very much, thanks mainly to a very large and powerful group of flame mages called The Brotherhood of the True Flame. They are evil and believe the only true magic is flame magic. They are very dangerous. Other elemental mages are not necessarily evil, but have been tarred with the same brush.

Sha'ir - The spellcaster unique to Zakhara. Sha'irs have an affinity for genies of all types. They are also the most respected and trusted of all the spellcasters in Zakhara, and many rulers and leaders listen to their advice. They understand better than most how genies think and how genies are closely linked with Zakhara. They cast spells with the help of a small kind of genie called a gen who can travel to another plane of existence to find magic for the sha'ir.

Necromancers - Strange wizards who deal with death and the dead (NPCs)

Ghul Lords - Rare, and rumoured to manipulate anti-magic in strange ways. Not much is known about them and so most people fear them because of that.
